Восьмидесятилетняя жительница небольшой деревни в Замбии стала иконой стиля, наряжаясь в наряды своей модной внучки.
Маргрет Чола (Margret Chola) приобрела известность в Интернете после того, как ее внучка, Диана Каумба, стилист из Нью-Йорка, начала фотографировать ее в гламурных нарядах.
«Я чувствую себя другой, я чувствую себя новой и живой в этой одежде, как никогда раньше», — сказала она BBC. «Я чувствую, что могу покорить мир... Я не знала, что могу так повлиять на людей в этом возрасте».
Чола не знает своего настоящего возраста, так как у нее нет свидетельства о рождении, но считает, что ей около 85 лет. Сейчас у нее 119 000 подписчиков в Instagram @legendary_glamma.
Ее посты также отдают дань уважения ее жизни в Замбии, показывая, как она держит «ибенде» — деревянную палку, используемую для измельчения проса, или позирует с «мбаулой» — угольной жаровней, предназначенной для приготовления пищи.
Каумба запустила аккаунт в прошлом году после того, как посетила Замбию на вторую годовщину смерти своего отца, которого она считает вдохновителем своего чувства моды.
«Я подумала, что было бы неплохо нарядить Мбуйю (бабушку) в высокую моду, а затем сфотографировать ее в ее естественной среде обитания», — объяснила Каумба изданию.
Первая фотография Чолы в серебристом брючном костюме быстро привлекла внимание.
«Я так нервничала, когда опубликовала первую фотографию. Я оставила свой телефон на 10 минут, и за эти 10 минут было 1000 лайков», — вспоминала Каумба изданию.
«Я была в шоке. Люди просили еще». Страница действительно взлетела в апреле, после того как на ней появилась Чола в красном платье Adidas, с несколькими ожерельями и короной.
Чола, мама троих детей, сказала, что ее взгляд на жизнь изменился из-за ее новообретенной славы. «Теперь я могу просыпаться с целью, зная, что люди по всему миру любят меня видеть», — сказала она.
