Ռուսաստանի միջուկային զինանոցը նորացված հսկողության տակ է այն բանից հետո, երբ միջին հեռահարության բալիստիկ հրթիռը, որը կարող է միջուկային մարտագլխիկ կրել, արձակվել է Ուկրաինայի ուղղությամբ:

Նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինն ասել է, որ այսպես կոչված «Օրեշնիկ» հրթիռի կիրառմամբ աննախադեպ հարձակումը ուղիղ պատասխան է Ուկրաինայի կողմից ԱՄՆ-ի և Մեծ Բրիտանիայի արտադրության հրթիռների օգտագործմանը՝ ռուսական տարածքի խորքում գտնվող թիրախներին հարվածելու համար:

Նա նաև զգուշացրել է, որ թիրախ կարող են դառնալ արևմտյան երկրների ռազմական օբյեկտները, որոնք թույլ են տվել Ուկրաինային օգտագործել իրենց զենքերը Ռուսաստանին հարվածելու համար։

Էսկալացիան գալիս է օրեր անց այն բանից հետո, երբ Ռուսաստանի նախագահը հավանություն տվեց երկրի միջուկային դոկտրինում փոքր, բայց էական փոփոխություններին, որոնք թույլ կտան միջուկային պատասխան տալ ռուսական տարածքի վրա սովորական հարձակմանը:

Թեև արևմտյան պաշտոնյաները, այդ թվում՝ ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Լլոյդ Օսթինը, մերժել են այն գաղափարը, որ Մոսկվայի կողմից միջուկային զենքի օգտագործումը մոտ է, փորձագետները զգուշացնում են, որ վերջին իրադարձությունները մեծացնում են դրանց կիրառման հավանականությունը:

Ամերիկացի գիտնականների ֆեդերացիայի (FAS) տվյալներով՝ Ռուսաստանն ունի ավելի շատ միջուկային մարտագլխիկներ, քան ցանկացած այլ երկիր՝ մոտավորապես 5580, ինչը կազմում է համաշխարհային պաշարների 47%-ը, հայտնում է Euronews-ը։

Սակայն, այդ զինատեսակներից միայն 1710-ն է տեղակայվել, ինչը շատ չէ, քան ԱՄՆ-ի կողմից տեղակայված 1670-ը:

Երկու երկրներն էլ ունեն միջուկային էներգիա, որը բավարար է միմյանց բազմապատիկ ոչնչացնելու համար, և զգալիորեն ավելի շատ միջուկային մարտագլխիկներ, քան աշխարհի յոթ միջուկային զենք ունեցող այլ պետություններ՝ Չինաստան, Ֆրանսիա, Հնդկաստան, Իսրայել, Հյուսիսային Կորեա, Պակիստան և Միացյալ Թագավորություն:

Մոսկվայի կողմից տեղակայված մարտագլխիկներից մոտ 870-ը գտնվում են ցամաքային բալիստիկ հրթիռների վրա, 640-ը՝ սուզանավից արձակվող բալիստիկ հրթիռների վրա և, հնարավոր է, 200-ը՝ ծանր ռմբակոծիչ ինքնաթիռների վրա:

Ըստ FAS-ի, նշաններ չկան, որ Ռուսաստանը զգալիորեն մեծացնում է իր միջուկային զինանոցը, սակայն Դաշնությունը նախազգուշացնում է ապագա հնարավոր աճի մասին, քանի որ երկիրը փոխարինում է մեկ մարտագլխիկ հրթիռներով հրթիռներով, որոնք կարող են կրել բազմաթիվ մարտագլխիկներ:
