Արարատ լեռը՝ հայոց հայրենիքի սիրտ, ազգային խորհրդանիշ ու հայկական ինքնության մաս

ՀՀԿ ԵԿ նախագահ Հենրիխ Դանիելյանը գրել է․
«Արարատ լեռան պատմությունը կարևոր է ինչպես Հայաստանի, այնպես էլ տարածաշրջանի համար։ Այն հանդիսանում է հայկական մշակույթի, պատմության և ինքնության անբաժանելի մաս։ Չնայած, որ Արարատ լեռը ներկայում գտնվում է Թուրքիայի տարածքում, և այսօրվա Հայաստանի կառավարիչները հրաժարվել են նրանից, այն ունի խորքային նշանակություն հայ ժողովրդի համար։
Աստվածաշնչյան նշանակություն:
Արարատ լեռը հիշատակվում է Աստվածաշնչում՝ որպես այն վայրը, որտեղ կանգ առավ Նոյան տապանը ջրհեղեղից հետո։ Այս դրվագը նշված է Ծննդոց գրքում (8:4):
2. Ազգային խորհրդանիշ:
Արարատը դարեր շարունակ եղել է Հայաստանի խորհրդանիշը։ Մինչև այսօր այն պատկերված է Հայաստանի ազգային զինանշանի վրա։
3. Մշակույթում և արվեստում:
Հայ գրականության, գեղանկարչության և ժողովրդական արվեստի մեջ Արարատ լեռը հաճախ խորհրդանշում է հայ ժողովրդի հզորությունը, գեղեցկությունը և դարավոր պատմությունը։
• Հայոց պատմության մեջ:
Արարատ լեռը տեղ է գտել հայկական վաղ շրջանի պատմական տեքստերում և ավանդազրույցներում։ Այն հաճախ ներկայացվել է որպես հայոց հայրենիքի սիրտը։
• Ուրարտու թագավորություն:
Հին աշխարհում լեռան անունը կապված է եղել Ուրարտու պետության հետ, որը մ.թ.ա. 9–6-րդ դարերում գոյություն ուներ այս տարածքում։
• Տիգրան Մեծի ժամանակաշրջանը:
Տիգրան Մեծի թագավորության ժամանակ (մ.թ.ա. 1-ին դար) Արարատը եղել է նրա թագավորության հարավային սահմանի մոտ։
Արարատ լեռը մինչ օրս շարունակում է մնալ հայ ժողովրդի հզորության և ոգեշնչման խորհրդանիշ։ Հայաստանը ներառում է լեռան պատկերը իր զինանշանի մեջ, իսկ ամբողջ աշխարհում սփյուռքը դիտարկում է այն՝ որպես հայկական ինքնության մի մաս»։
