Ադրբեջանական վարչակազմը Ստեփանակերտում քանդել է ևս 2,5 հեկտար բնակելի շենքեր՝ քաղաքի նախկինում քանդված պատմական 6 թաղամասերի հարևանությամբ։ Այսպես, հոկտեմբեր-նոյեմբեր ամիսներին Արցախի Հանրապետության մայրաքաղաքի կենտրոնում քանդվել է շուրջ 8,5 հա բնակելի տարածք։ Այս մասին հայտնում է Արցախի բռնազավթված տարածքներում մշակութային ժառանգության պահպանության պետական խորհրդի քարտուղար Սերգեյ Շահվերդյանը։
Նա հիշեցնում է, որ նախկինում գետնին էին հավասարվել համալսարանին հարակից 3,5 հա և «Եվրոպա» հյուրանոցին հարակից բնակելի 0,5 հա շենքերը։
Հասարակական շինությունները քանդելու առաջին դեպքերը գրանցվել են գարնանը, այնուհետև Ադրբեջանի վարչակազմը քանդել է ԱՀ խորհրդարանի շենքը, Վետերանների միության շենքը և Վերածննդի հրապարակում գտնվող Արմենիա հյուրանոցը։
