Ս. Մելիտոս եպիսկոպոսը († 381) ծնվել է Փոքր Հայքի Մելիտինե քաղաքում: 358 թվականին դառնում է Փոքր Հայքի Սեբաստիա քաղաքի եպիսկոպոսը, իսկ 360 թվականին ընտրվում՝ Անտիոքի Աթոռի գահակալ:
Նա, լինելով վարքով սրբակենցաղ, վարվեցողությամբ` քաղցրաբարո, աստվածպաշտության մեջ` անկեղծ, միաժամանակ խուսափում էր ժամանակի աստվածաբանական վիճաբանություններից: Եվ ժողովուրդն ակնկալում էր, որ նրան կհաջողվեր խաղաղություն հաստատել կրոնական վեճերի պատճառով պառակտված Անտիոք քաղաքում: Արդարև, նա ի զորու է լինում սիրաշահել այս անհանդարտ քաղաքի բնակչությանը, հեռու մնալով աստվածաբանական վիճելի խնդիրների արծարծումից, բավականանում է միայն բարոյական ու գործնական քարոզներով, աշխատում է աստիճանաբար բարեկարգել որոշ անկարգություններ:
Սակայն Կոստանդիոս արիոսական կայսեր կազմակերպած Անտիոքի ժողովում, որի նպատակն էր երևան հանել Մելիտոսի վարդապետական համոզումները, բացահայտում է իր ուղղափառ լինելը: Արիոսականների սադրանքով երիցս դատապարտվում է աքսորի:
Ս. Մելիտոս եպիսկոպոսի գրչին է պատկանում «Հավատքի շարադրում» աստվածաբանական երկը, որն օգնել է բազում մոլորվածների վերադառնալու ճշմարիտ հավատի: Սուրբը մասնակցել է 381 թվականին Կ. Պոլսի Բ Տիեզերաժողովին` նախագահելով այն, սակայն տակավին ժողովը չավարտված` վախճանվել է:
Մինասը († 304) ազգությամբ եգիպտացի սպա էր հռոմեական բանակում: Տեսնելով շրջապատի, աշխարհի մեջ տիրող անարդարությունն ու չարությունը` որոշում է նվիրվել ճգնավորական կյանքի` հաստատվելով Փռյուգիայի լեռներում:
Հեթանոսական տոներից մեկի ժամանակ իջնելով ժողովրդի մեջ` պախարակում է հեթանոսական կուռքերին` քարոզելով քրիստոնեական հավատը: Դրա համար էլ կտտանքների ենթարկվելով` գլխատվում է: Մինաս մարտիրոսի նահատակության վայրը սրբատեղի է համարվում, իսկ նրա կերպարը հանրահայտ է դառնում հատկապես միջին դարերում` միշտ պատկերված ուղտի վրա: Ազգությամբ պարսիկ Մելիտոսը քրիստոնյա զորական էր պարսկական բանակում: Ապա հրաժարվելով զինվորական ծառայությունից` նա նվիրվում է հոգևոր կյանքին` ձեռնադրվելով Բիթրազան քաղաքի եպիսկոպոս: Բազմիցս հալածվում է կռապաշտների կողմից, սակայն շարունակում է անդադրում ավետարանչական գործունեություն ծավալել` մինչև իսկ հասնելով Պարսից մայրաքաղաք Տիզբոն: Այստեղ էլ հրաժարվելով երկրպագել արեգակին` նահատակվում է պարսից Շապուհ (331-378) արքայի օրոք: Նրա հետ մարտիրոսական պսակն են ընդունում նաև իր երկու աշակերտները` Բուրաս քահանան և Շինու սարկավագը:
