ԱՄՆ իշխանությունները ասում են, որ Չինաստանի հետ կապեր ունեցող կիբերհանցագործները, հնարավոր է, փորձել են միանալ ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի և նրա փոխնախագահի թեկնածու, սենատոր Ջ.Դ. Վենսի հեռախոսներին կամ ցանցերին։
CBS News-ին այս տեղեկությունը հաստատել են իրավիճակին ծանոթ մի շարք աղբյուրներ։
Թրամփի քարոզարշավին զգուշացվել է, որ Թրամփի և Վանսի կողմից օգտագործվող հեռախոսները կարող են լինել ավելի լայն կիբերհարձակման թիրախ, ասել են աղբյուրները։
Դեմոկրատական կուսակցության նախագահի թեկնածու Քամալա Հարիսի նախընտրական արշավի հետ կապված մարդիկ նույնպես թիրախ են դարձել, BBC-ին հայտնել է հարցի մասին տեղյակ աղբյուրը:

Գործակալությունները նշել են, որ «չարամիտ գործողությունների» բացահայտումից հետո գործակալությունները «անմիջապես ծանուցել են տուժած ընկերություններին, տրամադրել են տեխնիկական աջակցություն և անհապաղ տեղեկատվություն են տարածել այլ հավանական զոհերին օգնելու համար»:
