Ամերիկյան դիվանագիտության մեջ ընդունված պրակտիկա է բանագնացների հետ միասին նաև նամակներ ուղարկել ընդունող երկրների ղեկավարներին:

Բովանդակային առումով ևս, Ալիևին ու Փաշինյանին ուղղված նամակներում արտասովոր բան չկա: Ամերիկյան պաշտոնական դիրքորոշումների արտացոլումն է, ընդունված ձևակերպումներով և քաջալերման խոսքերով՝ շարժվել դեպի առաջ:

Այստեղ ամենից կարևորը ժամանակագրությունն է (timing): Բայդենի վարչակազմին մնացել է 3 ամիս՝ իշխանությունն ամբողջությամբ Թրամփին կամ Հարիսին փոխանցելու համար:

Բնականաբար Բայդենը ցանկանում է, որ 4 տարվա այն ներդրումը, որ իր վարչակազմն ունեցել է հայ-ադրբեջանական հարաբերությունների կարգավորման գործում, հասնի իր տրամաբանական ավարտին և Բայդենը արդարացիորեն դառնա խաղաղության համաձայնագրի կնքահայրը:

Հեռացող նախագահ Բայդենը, ով արտաքին քաղաքականության ավելի մեծ փորձառություն ունի քան վերջին 30 տարիների ԱՄՆ որևէ նախագահ՝ պաշտոնը ստանձնելիս հասկանում է, որ ո՛չ Թրամփի, և ո՛չ էլ Հարիսի վարչակազմերի համար մեր տարածաշրջանը առաջնահերթություն չի լինելու, հետևաբար իր բոլոր ձեռքբերումները, եթե նույնիսկ ջուրը չգնան, ապա էապես դանդաղելու են կյանքի կոչման տեսանկյունից: Մյուս կողմից, նա ցանկանում է իր ժառանգության մեջ ունենալ հաջողության պատմություն խաղաղության կերտման տեսանկյունից, ինչպիսիքը դեռևս չկան:

Բնական է, որ խաղաղության համաձայնագրի կնքումը և Հարավային Կովկասի կոնֆլիկտի լուծումը (ինչպես ձևակերպված է Բայդենի ազգային անվտանգության ռազմավարության մեջ) ամերիկյան արտաքին շահերի համատեքստում ևս կարևոր նշանակություն ունեցող հանգամանք է, ինչն իր հերթին ստիպում է Բայդենի վարչակազմին մինչև վերջին րոպեն (հունվարի 20-ը ժամը 12:00) պայքարել այդ շահերի ապահովման համար»,- գրել է նա:
