Օձի կծելուց հետո առաջին բանը, որ պետք է անել, բժշկի դիմելն է, ավելի լավ է հնարավորինս արագ ինքներդ գնաք հիվանդանոց, իսկ եթե շտապօգնություն եք կանչել, անպայման ասեք, թե ինչ է պատահել, որպեսզի հակաթույն բերեն: Ինչ չի կարելի անել օձի կծելու դեպքում: Կատեգորիկ արգելվում է կծած տեղում ծանրություն դնել կամ մոտակայքում: Արգելվում է կտրվածք անել կծած հատվածում: Արգելվում է ալկոհոլ օգտագործել կամ դրանով կծած տեղը լվանալ:
