Հարավային Կալիֆոռնիայի երկու հայեր՝ տղամարդ և կին, մեղադրվում են Medicare-ից ավելի քան 54 միլիոն դոլար խաբելու մեջ՝ հոսփիսային ծառայությունների և ախտորոշիչ թեստերի կեղծ հայցեր ներկայացնելու և անօրինական միջոցների լվացման մեջ՝ միլիոնավոր դոլարների ոսկյա մետաղադրամներ և ձուլակտորներ գնելով, հայտնում է USA Today-ը՝ վկայակոչելով դաշնային իշխանություններին։

 36-ամյա Սոֆյա Շաքլյանը՝ Լոս Անջելեսից և 47-ամյա Ալեքս Ալեքսանյանը՝ Բըրբենքից ձերբակալվել են չորեքշաբթի՝ դաշնային մեծ երդվյալ ատենակալների 24 մեղադրանքի հիման վրա, ասվում է ԱՄՆ արդարադատության նախարարության հաղորդագրության մեջ:

Դաշնային դատախազները հայտնել են, որ Շաքլեյանին սպառնում է առողջապահական խարդախության 16 և փողերի լվացման չորս մեղադրանք, մինչդեռ Ալեքսանյանին մեղադրում է փողերի լվացման համար դավադրության և երեք փողերի լվացման համար: Ըստ ԱՄՆ դատախազության՝ 2019 թվականի մարտից մինչև 2024 թվականի օգոստոսը Շաքլեանը կեղծ անուններ է օգտագործել՝ Լոս Անջելեսի շրջանի Medicare-ում գրանցված յոթ առողջապահական ծառայություններ մատուցողներին կեղծ անուններ ներկայացնելու համար: Ըստ զեկույցի՝ Shaklian's hospice ընկերությունը Chateau d'Lumina Hospice and Palliative Care-ը և մի քանի ախտորոշիչ թեստավորման ընկերություններ, այդ թվում՝ Saint Gorge Radiology-ը և Hope Diagnostics-ը, 54 միլիոն դոլարի կեղծ հայցեր են ներկայացրել Medicare-ին այն ծառայությունների համար, որոնք երբեք չեն տրամադրվել և որոնք անհրաժեշտ չեն եղել։ 

Շաքլյանն ու Ալեքսանյանն, ընդհանուր առմամբ, ստացել են ավելի քան 23 միլիոն դոլար այդ պահանջներից, ասել են դաշնային դատախազները: Շաքլյանը նաև մեղադրվում է իր հոսփիսային ընկերությանը վճարված Medicare-ի միջոցները լվանալու մեջ՝ դրանք փոխանցելով «Վարսենիկ Բաբայան» կեղծ անունով հաշվեհամարներին», - հայտնել է ԱՄՆ դատախազությունը: Ալեքսանյանը հանձնարարել է օտարերկրյա մի քաղաքացու բացել Saint Gorge Radiology и Hope Diagnostics-ը  Սիլմարում, Կալիֆոռնիա, և գնել Console Hospice-ը, որը առողջապահական ծառայություններ մատուցող ընկերություն է, ասաց Արդարադատության վարչությունը: Ըստ դաշնային դատախազների, ձեռքբերումից հետո Ալեքսանյանը վերահսկողություն է ձեռք բերել ընկերությունների, նրանց բանկային հաշիվների և օտարերկրյա քաղաքացիների անձնական բանկային հաշիվների նկատմամբ։ Ըստ տեղեկությունների՝ Ալեքսանյանը դավադրություն է կազմակերպել նաև երկիրը լքած օտարերկրյա քաղաքացու և այլոց հետ, որպեսզի ռադիոլոգիական կենտրոնն ու հոսփիսը կեղծ հայցեր ներկայացնեն Medicare-ին՝ չմատուցված ծառայությունների համար:

Ըստ ԱՄՆ դատախազության՝ կասկածյալները գնել են ավելի քան 6 միլիոն դոլար ոսկու ձուլակտորներ և մետաղադրամներ՝ Medicare-ի վճարումները և «Բաբայան» անունով իրենց հաշիվներին մուտքագրված միջոցները լվանալու համար: Մեղադրանքը հաստատվելու դեպքում Շաքլյանին սպառնում է առավելագույնը 10 տարվա ազատազրկում՝ առողջապահական խարդախության յուրաքանչյուր կետով և մինչև 20 տարվա ազատազրկում՝ փողերի լվացման յուրաքանչյուր հոդվածով: Եթե ​​Ալեքսանյանը մեղավոր ճանաչվի, յուրաքանչյուր կետով կարող է դաշնային բանտում անցկացնել մինչև 20 տարի:
