Իսրայելը մտադիր չէ ռազմական գործողություններ ձեռնարկել Թուրքիայի դեմ, ընդգծել է նախագահ Իցհակ Հերցոգն այն բանից հետո, երբ Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը նախազգուշացրել է, որ իր երկիրը կարող է հաջորդը հարձակման ենթարկվել Լիբանանից և Գազայից հետո: Այս մասին գրում է timesofisrael.com-ը:

«Ես տեսա, որ Թուրքիայի ղեկավարի կողմից արվել են որոշ մեկնաբանություններ Թուրքիայի դեմ Իսրայելի ենթադրյալ ծրագրերի վերաբերյալ: Ուզում եմ հստակ ասել, որ Իսրայելը երբեք որևէ ծրագիր չի ունեցել Թուրքիայի դեմ: Ընդհակառակը, մենք մեծ հարգանքով ենք վերաբերվում Թուրքիայի ժողովրդին, և նրանք մեծ հարգանք ունեն Իսրայելի ժողովրդի նկատմամբ: Մենք ժողովուրդների միջև երկարամյա հարաբերություններ ունենք, և ժողովուրդները բարձր կգտնվեն բոլոր այն ձայներից, որոնք դեմ են բարեկամությանը և համակեցությանը», - ասել է Հերցոգը Երուսաղեմում ամերիկյան խոշոր հրեական կազմակերպությունների նախագահների համաժողովի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ։

Հերցոգը հավելել է, որ «Իսրայելի ռազմական գործողությունները կհանգեցնեն «պատմական փոփոխության, որը հնարավորություն կտա Աբրահամի որդիներին միասին ապրել տարածաշրջանում և միասին շարժվել դեպի խաղաղություն, օգնել միմյանց՝ ելնելով տարածաշրջանի և ժողովուրդների և ընդհանուր մարդկության բարօրությունից»:

«Սա է մեր տեսլականը։ Դրա համար մենք պայքարում ենք չարի դեմ, և դրա համար էլ Գազայի ժողովրդին, Լիբանանի ժողովրդին, Իրանի ժողովրդին առաջարկում ենք այլ ճանապարհ և այլ ապագա», - նշել է Իսրայելի նախագահը:

Անցյալ շաբաթ Էրդողանն ասել էր, որ «Սուրբ երկրում Իսրայելի խելագարված կառավարությունը, հնարավոր է, Պաղեստինից և Լիբանանից հետո իր կրոնական մոլեռանդությամբ թիրախավորի մեր հայրենիքը»:

Նա նաև պնդել էր, որ Իսրայելի վարչապետ Բենիամին Նեթանյահուն Թուրքիային օկուպացնելու նկրտումներ ունի։
