Миллиардер и экс-председатель совета директоров индийской корпорации Tata Group Ратан Тата умер в возрасте 86 лет. Об этом сообщается на сайте компании.
«С чувством глубокой утраты мы прощаемся с Ратаном Навалом Татой, поистине выдающимся лидером, чей неоценимый вклад сформировал не только Tata Group, но и саму структуру нашей нации», - говорится в сообщении.
«С непоколебимой приверженностью к совершенству, честности и инновациям Tata Group под его руководством расширила свое глобальное присутствие, всегда оставаясь верной своим моральным принципам. Приверженность Таты благотворительности и развитию общества затронула жизни миллионов. От образования до здравоохранения его инициативы оставили глубокий след, который принесет пользу грядущим поколениям», - подчеркивается в сообщении Tata Group.
Ратан Тата родился 28 декабря 1937 года. Он был выходцем из влиятельной индийской семьи Тата. Председательствовал в Tata Group с 1990 года по 2012 год, был временным председателем компании с октября 2016 года по февраль 2017 года.
Tata Group была создана в 1868 году, является одной из крупнейших индийских компаний. Она работает в сфере информационных технологий, энергетики, машиностроения, производства материалов и химических веществ.
