Եվրամիությունը որոշում է կայացրել պատժիչ մաքսատուրքեր սահմանել Չինաստանից ներկրվող էլեկտրական մեքենաների համար։ Ըստ Bild-ի՝ ԵՄ հանձնաժողովը սահմանել է մինչև 35% մաքսատուրք։

Բրյուսելը Պեկինին մեղադրում է պետական սուբսիդիաների միջոցով էլեկտրական մեքենաների գների արհեստական իջեցման համար, ինչը «անարդար պայմաններ է ստեղծում համաշխարհային շուկաներում»։

Գերմանիայի կանցլեր Օլաֆ Շոլցը դեմ է եղել մաքսատուրքերին՝ վախենալով Չինաստանի կողմից «վրեժխնդրությունից», որը կարող է բացասաբար ազդել գերմանական ընկերությունների վրա, հատկապես լյուքս դասի մեքենաներ արտադրողների վրա: Այնուամենայնիվ, ԵՄ երկրների մեծ մասը կողմ է քվեարկել տուրքերի ներդրմանը, չնայած Գերմանիայի առարկություններին։

«Չինաստանը ցանկանում է եվրոպական և գերմանական շուկաները հեղեղել զանգվածաբար սուբսիդավորվող էլեկտրական մեքենաներով, ինչպես նախկինում արեց պողպատի և արևային էներգիայի հետ կապված դեպքում: Հիմա խոսքը Չինաստանի մեկուսացման մասին չէ, այլ արդար մրցակցության: Մենք չենք ցանկանում առևտրային պատերազմ Չինաստանի հետ, բայց նաև չպետք է թույլ տանք, որ Պեկինը շարունակի օգտագործել անարդար և շուկան խաթարող գործելաոճը», - ասել է Գերմանիայի ԱԳ նախարար Անալենա Բերբոքը:

Չնայած Չինաստանի հետ առևտրային պատերազմի հեռանկարին, մաքսատուրքերի կողմնակիցներն ասում են, որ դա կարևոր քայլ է բոլոր արտադրողների համար արդար գործարք ապահովելու համար:
