Ամերիկայի Հայ Դատի հանձնախումբն արձագանքել է Քամալա Հարիսի՝ Հայաստանի Անկախության օրվա առիթով արված հայտարարությանը:

Հաղորդագրության մեջ ընդգծվում է, որ հանձնախումբը ավելի վաղ բացասաբար է գնահատել ինչպես Բայդենի գործող, այնպես էլ Թրամփի նախկին վարչակազմերի գործունեությունը հայկական հարցերի վերաբերյալ, հատկապես Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի շուրջ զարգացումներում:

ՀՀ անկախության օրվա առթիվ ԱՄՆ նախագահի դեմոկրատ թեկնածու, երկրի գործող փոխնախագահ Քամալա Հարիսը հրապարակել է ուղերձ՝ ուղղված ամերիկահայությանը։ Դրանում Հարիսը աջակցություն է հայտնել «Լեռնային Ղարաբաղից տեղահանված հայերի՝ իրենց տներն անվտանգ վերադառնալու իրավունքին»։ Դեմոկրատ թեկնածուն նաև նկատել է. «Մենք երբեք չպետք է մոռանանք Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը», ինչպես նաև՝ հանձնառու է «Հայաստանի և իր հարևանների միջև ինքնիշխանությունը, անկախությունը և տարածքային ամբողջականությունը հարգող կայուն խաղաղությանը հասնելուն»:

Անդրադառնալով փոխնախագահ Հարիսի հայտարարությանը՝ Վաշինգտոնի Հայ դատի հանձնախմբի գործադիր տնօրեն Արամ Համբարյանը նշել է:

«Որպես փոխնախագահ՝ Քամալա Հարիսը մի ամբողջ տարի ուներ գործելու Արցախի վերադարձի իրավունքի համար՝ ԱՄՆ առաջնորդությամբ ՄԱԿ-ի Անվտանգության խորհրդի բանաձևի միջոցով, սակայն նա այս մասին սկսել է խոսել (ամերիկահայերի, ոչ թե ՄԱԿ-ի անդամ երկրների հետ) ընտրություններից միայն 40 օր առաջ, երբ հայ ընտրողները կարող են վճռորոշ լինել առանցքային տատանվող նահանգներում: Հատկանշական է, որ փոխնախագահ Հարիսը, որի վարչակազմը զինել է Ադրբեջանի ցեղասպանական շրջափակումը և հարձակումը Արցախի վրա, մատ անգամ չբարձրացրեց և նույնիսկ ձայն չբարձրացրեց 2023 թ. Ադրբեջանի ագրեսիայի դեմ։ Նույնիսկ քարոզարշավի հռետորաբանության մակարդակով նա ոչ մի բառ չի ասել Ադրբեջանին տրամադրվող ամերիկյան ռազմական սպառազինությունն ու օժանդակությունը դադարեցնելու կամ այլ կերպ Բաքվին, իր հանցագործությունների համար, պատասխանատվության ենթարկելու վերաբերյալ: Քաղաքական գործիչները՝ նախագահական թեկնածուները և այլն, չեն կարող դիրքավորվել որպես հայերի բարեկամներ՝ միաժամանակ հրաժարվելով պատասխանատվության ենթարկել Ալիևին կամ չկարողանալով զսպել ադրբեջանական ագրեսիան»։
