ՀՀ վարչապետի աթոռը զբաղեցնող Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը Նյու Յորքում է՝ մասնակցելու ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր վեհաժողովի 79-րդ նստաշրջանի աշխատանքներին։ Մինչ այլ երկրների ղեկավարներն այդ ամբիոնն օգտագործում են՝ իրենց խնդիրներն առաջ մղելու, հակառակորդների դեմ փաստարկներ ներկայացնելու կամ սեփական երկրի համար որևէ օգտակար քայլ կատարելու, Փաշինյանը մեկնել էր իր «խաղաղասիրական» ու ձախողված թեզերով միջազգային հանրության մոտ Հայաստանի նկատմամբ տարօրինակ ու վատ տրամադրություններ սերմանելու։

Ապագայի գագաթնաժողովին Փաշինյանը կարճ ելույթ է ունեցել, որևէ բառ չի ասել ոչ Արցախի հայաթափման, ոչ ռազմագերիների, ոչ էլ արցախցիների իրավունքների մասին։ Ավելին, նույնիսկ ՀՀ ինքնիշխան տարածք ադրբեջանական հրոսակների ներխուժման մասին չի խոսել։ Ոչ ավել, ոչ պակաս, հայտարարել է, թե կարևորագույն բանը, որ կարող ենք անել ապագայի համար, պոզիտիվ խոսույթներ ձևավորելն է և դրանց հիմքերի ստեղծման հնարավորությունների վրա կենտրոնանալը, անկախ նրանից այս պահին դրանք կա՞ն, թե` ոչ։ Այսօրվա գլոբալ ճգնաժամի պատճառներից մեկ, ըստ Փաշինյանի, այն է, որ «միջազգային հարթակները վաղուց դարձել են փոխադարձ մեղադրանքների, սպառնալիքների, փակուղիների, ճգնաժամերի ազդարարման հարթակ»:

Փաշինյանը նշել է, որ ՀՀ վարչապետի իր ընթացիկ մանդատը ստացել է խորհրդարանական ընտրություններում իր կուսակցության կողմից որդեգրված «Ապագա կա՛, կա՛ ապագա» կարգախոսի ներքո: Ապագա, այսպես թե այնպես կա, Փաշինյանից հետո էլ։ Այլ հարց, թե ինչ ապագա է սպառնում Հայաստանին նրա պաշտոնավարման օրոք։ Ադրբեջանը նոր պատերազմի է պատրաստվում, հայկական կողմին մեղադրում ռևանշիստական տրամադրություններ ունենալու, զինվելու մեջ, ինքն էլ մի քանի անգամ ավելի զինվում ու արդեն չի թաքցնում իրավիճակի սրման մտադրությունները։
