Տարեսկզբից Միջերկրական ծովով Եվրոպա են ժամանել 47 հազար 214 միգրանտներ ու փախստականներ, 177 մարդ զոհվել Է ծովում՝ Եվրոպա հասնելու փորձ կատարելիս: Այդ մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում Է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել Է Միգրացիայի միջազգային կազմակերպության (ՄՄԿ) պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Ջոել Միլման ը:
«2016 թվականի սկզբից Միջերկրական ծովով Հունաստան ժամանածների թիվը, ըստ ՄՄԿ-ի գնահատումների, կազմում Է 45 հազար 361 մարդ: Դա մոտավորապես 31 անգամ ավելի Է, քան ողջ 2015 թվականի հունվարի ընթացքում, երբ Հունաստանի առափնյա պահպանությունը հաղորդել Էր 1472 մարդու ժամանման մասին»,-նշել Է նա:- Տարեսկզբից ժամանածների շուրջ 90 տոկոսը Սիրիայի, Իրաքի եւ Աֆղանստանի քաղաքացիներ են: Նրանց թույլատրված Է Հունաստանից ազատ անցումը Մակեդոնիա, որտեղից նրանք ուղեւորվում են Արեւմտյան Եվրոպայի երկրներ:
ՄՄԿ-ի տվյալներով՝ տարեսկզբից 1835 միգրանտներ ու փախստականներ են ժամանել Իտալիա: Միլմանի խոսքով՝ ընթացիկ տարվա սկզբից Միջերկրական ծովում զոհվել են 177 միգրանտներ ու փախստականներ: «Անցյալ տարվա այդ ժամանակաշրջանում զոհվածների թիվը 77 Է եղել»,-արձանագրել Է նա, հաղորդել Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը:
