292 տարվա ազատազրկման դատապարտված տղամարդը 10 տարի անց ազատ է արձակվել

Արիզոնայի բնակիչ Ատդոմա Պատսալիսան ազատ է արձակվել բանտից այն բանից հետո, երբ կրել է 292 տարվա ազատազրկման 10 տարի պատիժը ոչ բռնի հանցագործությունների համար:
Պատսալիսան, ում վերջերս ներում է շնորհվել և դատապարտվել տնային կալանքի, ողջունվել է ընտանիքի և աջակիցների կողմից հինգշաբթի առավոտյան Ֆենիքսում համայնքի շենքից դուրս գալուց հետո: Նա ասել է, որ իրեն «անհավանական ազատ է զգում»։
Պատսալիսան 2015-ին դատապարտվել է 25 հանցանքի համար՝ կապված 2013-ի վերջին և 2014-ի սկզբին Բուլհեդ Սիթիում մի շարք գողությունների հետ:
Այդ ժամանակ նա 20 տարեկան էր, անօթևան և պայքարում էր թմրամոլության դեմ: Դատավորը հրամայել է բոլոր պատիժները հաջորդաբար կիրառվել՝ մեղմ պատիժներից մի քանիսը փոխելով ցմահ ազատազրկման։ Պատսալիսան տարիներ անցկացրել է դատավճիռները բողոքարկելու համար, բայց, ի վերջո, անհաջող: Արիզոնայի արդարադատության նախագծի օգնությամբ՝ Ֆենիքսում գործող ոչ առևտրային կազմակերպություն, որը պաշտպանում է անմեղ և անօրինական դատապարտվածներին, Պատսալիսը վերջերս շահեց իր պատժաչափը, որը կրճատվեց որպես ներողամտության գործընթացի մաս:
