Չդադարող հակամարտության ու պատերազմների խաչմերուկում ապրելը դժվար էր, նույնքան դժվար էր նաև պատասխանատվության զգացումը, որ անհատը ստանձնել է հայրենակիցների հանդեպ։
Սասուն Բաբալյանը փրկարար ծառայողի 16 տարվա աշխատանքային փորձ ունի։ Փխրուն խաղաղության ժամանակ դեպքեր ու պատահարներ՝ որքան ասես։ Սակայն, համակարգում ծառայությունն ավելի մեծ պատասխանատվությամբ էին կրում՝ պատերազմական ու հետպատերազմյա շրջանում։
«Պատերազմի ժամանակ մոռանում էինք, որ մենք էլ ունենք ընտանիքներ։ Պետք է արագ հասնեինք այն վայրեր, որտեղ հրետակոծության են ենթարկվել․ գնանք օգնելու, փրկելու, տարհանելու, սա էր մեր առաքելությունը։ Յուրաքանչյուր փրկարարի համար ամենաուրախ պահն այն էր, որ ողջ մարդկաց էինք դուրս բերում»,- MediaHub-ի հետ զրույցում ասում է Սասունը։
Ամբողջ ծառայության ընթացքում Սասունն ու փրկարար ընկերները չեն ընկրկել։ Ադրբեջանի կողմից գրավված տարածքներում որոնողական աշխատանքների ընթացքում տարհանել են հազարավոր աճյուններ՝ հանդուրժելով ադրբեջանական զորքի հեգնանքն ու վերաբերմունքը, որոնք ամեն կերպ խոչնդոտում էին որոնման գործընթացը։ Սասունն ասում է՝ Ստեփանակերտում հարյուրավոր ծնողներ իրենց էին սպասում։ Դրանով սփոփվում էին։
Երեք պատերազմ վերապրած փրկարարի համար ողբերգական էր հատկապես վերջին պատերազմը։ Մայրը՝ 62-ամյա Սուսաննա Բաբալյանը, որ տառապում էր պարկինսոնի հիվանդությամբ, հիմնական բուժումն անցնում էր Երևանում։ Սակայն, բլոկադայի ժամանակ ընտանիքին այդպես էլ չհաջողվեց նրան տեղափոխել այստեղ։ Սեպտեմբերյան մարտերից հետո, երբ Սասունն Արցախի փրկարարների հետ որոնողական աշխատանքերի մեջ էր, կապը մասնակի վերականգնվելուց հետո ստացավ ամենացավոտ լուրը։ Սեպտեմբերի 19-ին շրջափակված, նաև Ստեփանակերտից մեկուսացած Ճարտարում Սուսաննան մահացել է։
«Կապի բացակայության պայմաններում օրեր շարունակ չենք կարողացել միմյանց հետ կապ հաստատել։ Ես մասնակցում էի որոնողական աշխատանքներին և ուշացումով իմացա, որ մայրս մահացել է 4 կողմից ադրբեջանցիներով շրջապատված Ճարտարում: Սեպտեմբերի 25-ին մայրս հուղարկավորվեց հայրենի քաղաքում, որին քույրերս չկարողացան մասնակցել. հնարավոր չէր»,- պատմեց նա։
Ամիսներ շարունակ Հայաստանում մնալուց հետո Սասունն ընտանիքով տեղափոխվել է Ռուսաստանի Դաշնություն, փորձում է նոր կյանք սկսել այնտեղ։ Ինչպես բոլոր արցախցիները, փրկարարը ևս սպասում է հրաշքի. վերադարձի հարց լինի, առաջինն ինքն է բռնելու տուն տանող ճանապարհը։
