Այսօր հայ առաքելական եկեղեցին նշում է Խաչվերացը

Այսօր`սեպտեմբերի 15-ին, հայ առաքելական եկեղեցին տոնում է Խաչվերացը։ Խաչվերացը Հայ Եկեղեցու հինգ տաղավար տոներից վերջինն է:
Այն Խաչին նվիրված տոներից ամենակարևորն է, որովհետև նվիրված է գերությունից խաչի վերադարձի և փառաբանության հիշատակին:
Հայաստանյայց Եկեղեցում Խաչվերացը տոնում են սեպտեմբերի 11-17-ն ընկած ժամանակահատվածում հանդիպող կիրակի օրը: Սուրբ Խաչը տոնվում է ի հիշատակ Տիրոջ խաչափայտի` պարսկական գերությունից Երուսաղեմ վերադարձի և Գողգոթայում կանգնեցման (վերացման): Այստեղից էլ տոնը կոչվում է Խաչվերաց:
Ժողովրդական ավանդույթի մեջ Խաչվերացը կամ «Սըրբխեչը» աշնան սկիզբը խորհրդանշող ուրախ տոն է: Տոնի նախօրեին` շաբաթ օրը կանայք խմորեղեն են պատրաստում, տղամարդիկ` ուլ մորթում ու գորովի պատրաստում: Ժողովրդական ավանդության համաձայն ուլի միսը և ձավարով փլավն այդ օրվա առանձնահատուկ ուտելիքներն են, առանց որոնց տոնը լիարժեք չի կարող լինել:
Շատ տեղեր Խաչվերացը` «Սըրբխեչը» ընկալում են որպես աշնանամուտ: Ինչպես ասում էին քեսապցիները` «Խաչ, վերմակը առ, ներս փախիր», — այսինքն` բացօթյա գիշերողներն այլևս տանն են գիշերում:
Խաչվերացի հաջորդ օրը մեռելոց է: Այդ օրը եկեղեցիներում մատուցվում է Ս. Պատարագ, կատարվում է հոգեհանգստյան կարգ, որից հետո այցելում են հանգուցյալների շիրիմներին:
Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցին ունի Սուրբ Խաչին նվիրված հետևյալ տոները. Սուրբ Խաչի երևման, Խաչվերաց, Վարագա Ս. Խաչի, Ս. Խաչի գյուտ: Այս չորսից երեքը նշվում են քրիստոնյա բոլոր եկեղեցիներում, և միայն Վարագա Սուրբ Խաչի տոնն է զուտ հայկական ու կատարվում է միայն մեր Եկեղեցում:
