Սեպտեմբերի 14-ին Ն.Ս.Օ.Տ.Տ. Գարեգին Երկրորդ Ծայրագույն Պատրիարք և Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսը Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնում ընդունեց Միջազգային քրեական դատարանի (ՄՔԴ) նախկին դատախազ Լուիս Մորենո Օկամպոյին ու «Ճշմարտության և արդարության կենտրոն» կազմակերպության անդամներին՝ ուղեկցությամբ Մեծ Բրիտանիայի և Իռլանդիայի հայոց թեմի առաջնորդ Տ․ Հովակիմ եպիսկոպոս Մանուկյանի։

Ողջունելով ՄՔԴ նախկին դատախազի այցը հայոց հոգևոր կենտրոն՝ Նորին Սրբությունը տեղեկություններ փոխանցեց Մայր Աթոռ Սուրբ Էջմիածնի՝ հայ ժողովրդի կյանքում ունեցած կարևոր դերակատարության, հոգևոր, մշակութային արժեքների, ազգային ինքնության կերտման և ազգապահպան առաքելության մասին։

Հանդիպմանը Նորին Սրբությունն իր գնահատանքը հայտնեց տիար Օկամպոյին միջազգային տարբեր ատյաններում հայ ժողովրդի և արցախահայության արդար իրավունքների պաշտպանության, Ադրբեջանի ցեղասպան քաղաքականության դատապարտաման և գերիների վերադարձման գործում ներդրած ջանքերի համար։

Խոսելով երկրի առջև ծառացած անվտանգային հիմնախնդիրների մասին՝ Հայոց Հայրապետն իր մտահոգությունները բարձրաձայնեց՝ ընդգծելով, որ Եկեղեցին մշտապես իր կարելի նպաստն է բերում առկա մարտահրավերների հաղթահարմանը, արցախահայերի հոգևոր և հումանիտար կարիքների բավարարմանն ու նրանց ապահով ապագայի կերտմանն ուղղված ջանքերին։ Հիշյալ խնդիրների ամբողջական լուծման ուղղությամբ, Վեհափառ Հայրապետը կարևորեց, ինչպես միջազգային հանրության գործուն աջակցությունը, այնպես էլ տիար Օկամպոյի ծավալած գործունեությունն ի խնդիր արդարության հաստաման և մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության։

Իր հերթին Լուիս Մորենո Օկամպոն Նորին Սրբությանը ներկայացրեց իր մտածումներն ու նախաձեռնած գործողություններն Ադրբեջանի կողմից Հայաստանի բռնազավթված տարածքների ազատագրման, Արցախում իրագործված էթնիկ զտումների բարձրաձայնման, Ադրբեջանում պահվող հայ գերիների ազատ արձակման ուղղությամբ՝ ընդգծելով միջազգային իրավունքի սկզբունքների գործնական կիրառման անհրաժեշտությունը: Այս առնչությամբ տիար Օկամպոն կարևորեց աշխարհասփյուռ հայության համախմբումը այդ սկզբունքները կյանքի կոչելու գործում: ՄՔԴ նախկին դատախազը անդարաձավ նաև Հայ Եկեղեցու կարևոր դերակատարությանը տեղահանված արցախահայերի հոգևոր առաջնորդության, նրանց ոտնահարված իրավունքների պաշտպանության և գերիների վերադարձման  ուղությամբ։
