Նիգերում ռեկորդային տեղումների հետևանքով առնվազն 273 մարդ է մահացել, ավելի քան 700 հազարը տեղահանվել է։ Ագադես քաղաքը, որը գտնվում է Սահարա անապատի Նիգերի հատվածում, որը սովորաբար համարվում է Աֆրիկայի ամենաշոգ և չոր քաղաքներից մեկը, ջրի տակ է հայտնվել, հայտնում է malijet պորտալը։
Մարդկանց մեծ մասը մահացել է, քանի որ նրանց տները, որոնք նախատեսված չէին առատ տեղումների համար, իսկ տեղումները շարունակվում են մայիսից, կառուցված էին չթրծված կավե բլոկներից և պարզապես լուծարվում էին երկար ժամանակ խոնավության տակ մնալու դեպքում: Քաղաքացիական պաշտպանության ազգային ծառայությունը նշել է, որ ամենավատ տուժած շրջանները եղել են Տաուան և Մարադին՝ համապատասխանաբար 87 և 86 զոհերով: Ընդհանուր առմամբ, ջրհեղեղներ են գրանցվել երկրի 266 համայնքներից 201-ում, ավերվել է ավելի քան 73 հազար բնակելի շենք։
Նիգերի իշխանությունները կոչ են անում բնակչությանը լքել ջրհեղեղի վտանգի տակ գտնվող տարածքները և մարդասիրական օգնություն և փրկարար խմբեր են ուղարկում աղետի գոտիներ։ Միջազգային կազմակերպությունների հետ համագործակցությամբ կազմակերպվում է կարիքավորներին սննդի և առաջին անհրաժեշտության այլ ապրանքների տրամադրում, միջոցներ են ձեռնարկվում բուժօգնության և սանիտարահիգիենիկ ծառայություններ տեղակայելու ուղղությամբ։
Օդերեւութաբանների տվյալներով՝ վերջին մի քանի շաբաթվա ընթացքում անձրևներ են տեղացել Արևմտյան և Կենտրոնական Աֆրիկայի մի շարք երկրներում՝ Գվինեայում, Կոնգոյի Դեմոկրատական Հանրապետությունում, Կոտ դ'Իվուարում, Լիբերիայում, Մալիում, Նիգերում, Նիգերիայում, Տոգոյում։
