Ամերիկացի գիտնականներն ահազանգում են ու իրենց երկրում մեծ աղմուկ են բարձրացրել նրբերշիկների հարցի շուրջ։

Նրանք պահանջում են դադարեցնել օգտագործել նրբերշիկները որպես սնունդ ու առավել ևս կերակրել դրանցով երեխաներին։

Անկասկած, նրբերշիկը շատ պոպուլյար սնունդ է, սակայն գիտական նոր հետազոտությունները ցույց են տվել, որ այն երեխաները, ովքեր 10-ից ավելի նրբերշիկ են ուտում ամսվա մեջ, 9 անգամ ավելի հակված են լեյկիմիայով հիվանդանալուն, քան այլ երեխաները։

Բացի դրանից, մայրերը, ովքեր շաբաթական անգամ մեկ հոթ-դոգ են ուտում հղիության ժամանակ, մեծացնում են իրենց պտղի մոտ ուղեղի ուռուցք ձեռք բերելու հավանականությունը։

Ավելին, անգամ հայրերը, ովքեր հաճախ են նրբերշիկներ ուտում մինչև բեղմնավորումը, այդ կերպ ավելացնում են երեխայի մոտ քաղցկեղի հավանականությունը։
