Ճապոնիան հայտարարել է նոր սուպերհամակարգիչ ստեղծելու մտադրության մասին, որը կդառնա աշխարհի ամենաարագ Fugaku-ի ժառանգորդը: Նոր սուպերհամակարգչի մշակումը կսկսվի հաջորդ տարի Ֆիզիկական և քիմիական հետազոտությունների ինստիտուտի (RIKEN) և Fujitsu-ի աջակցությամբ: Նոր սուպերհամակարգիչը կունենա 50 էկզաֆլոպս կատարողականություն և կկարողանա հասնել զետաֆլոպի սանդղակի գագաթնակետային արժեքների, ինչը նրան կդարձնի աշխարհում ամենահզորը արհեստական բանականության ալգորիթմների հետ աշխատելու համար:
Ըստ Tom's Hardware-ի, յուրաքանչյուր սուպերհամակարգչային հաշվողական հանգույց կունենա մի քանի հարյուր տերաֆլոպ կատարողականություն՝ կրկնակի ճշգրիտ հաշվարկների համար, մոտ 50 պետաֆլոպս՝ FP16 ճշգրիտ հաշվարկների համար, և մոտ 100 պետաֆլոպս՝ 8 բիթանոց հաշվարկների համար: Տվյալների փոխանցման բարձր արագություն ապահովելու համար նախատեսվում է օգտագործել HBM հիշողություն, որը վայրկյանում մի քանի հարյուր տերաբայթ թողունակություն կապահովի։
Ճապոնիայի կրթության, մշակույթի, սպորտի, գիտության և տեխնոլոգիայի նախարարությունը (MEXT) զարգացման առաջին տարվա համար կհատկացնի 4,2 միլիարդ իեն (մոտ 29,05 միլիոն դոլար), իսկ ծրագրի ընդհանուր պետական ֆինանսավորումը կկազմի ավելի քան 110 միլիարդ իեն (մոտ 761 միլիոն դոլար): RIKEN-ը կղեկավարի զարգացումը, իսկ Fujitsu-ն պատասխանատու կլինի սարքավորումների ստեղծման համար՝ հատուկ շեշտադրելով ճապոնական տեխնոլոգիաների կիրառումը:
Չնայած նոր Fugaku Next սուպերհամակարգչի ճարտարապետությունը դեռ հստակեցված չէ, ակնկալվում է, որ այն կօգտագործի կենտրոնական պրոցեսորներ մասնագիտացված արագացուցիչներով կամ դրանց համադրություն գրաֆիկական պրոցեսորների հետ։ Եթե ընտրությունն ընկնի Fujitsu-ի պրոցեսորների վրա, նրանք կարող են ստանալ մինչև 150 Armv9 միջուկ:
Նախագծի ավարտը և նոր սուպերհամակարգչի թողարկումը նախատեսվում է 2030 թվականին։
