360.ru-ն «Աշխարհագրական հաջողություն և առավելագույն օգուտ. ինչո՞ւ է Ադրբեջանը ցանկանում միանալ BRICS-ին» վերնագրով հոդվածում գրում է, որ Ադրբեջանի մուտքը BRICS տնտեսապես շահավետ է երկրի համար, 360.ru-ի հետ զրույցում ասել է քաղաքագետ և անկախ վերլուծաբան Սերգեյ Ստանկևիչը, քանի որ հենց Հարավային Կովկասում, որտեղ գտնվում է այդ հանրապետությունը, կա երկու անհավանական կարևոր համաշխարհային առևտրային ճանապարհների խաչմերուկ՝ Արևել քից Արևմուտք և Հյուսիսից Հարավ: «Սա իրականում ամբողջ եվրասիական մայրցամաքի հիմնական առևտրային հանգույցն է, ուստի Ադրբեջանը շտապում է առավելագույնս օգտագործել աշխարհագրական նման բախտը: BRICS-ին միանալը հնարավորություն է ընձեռում արդյունավետորեն օգտագործել այդ տարանցիկ ուղիները՝ մասնակցելով առևտրաշրջանառությանը և ստանալով ինչպես տարանցիկ, այնպես էլ արտահանման առավելություններ: Սա բավականին ակնհայտ գաղափար է»,- ասել է Ստանկևիչը:

Նրա խոսքով, Ադրբեջանը ո՛չ Եվրամիությանն անդամակցելու, ո՛չ էլ որևէ այլ տեղ չունի գնալու, ուստի միանգամայն տրամաբանական է կենտրոնացումը BRICS-ի վրա։ «Իսկ Հայաստանը առայժմ կորցնում է պատմական ժամանակ՝ հեռու մնալով այն կարևորագույն պահից, երբ վերլուծվում են հիմնական հնարավորություններն ու ուղիները, որոնցով կհոսեն ապրանքներն ու կապիտալը։ Հայաստանը դանդաղում է և կարող է անդառնալիորեն բաց թողնել հնարավորությունները»,- ասել է քաղաքագետը։

Արևելքից արևմուտք երթուղիներից մեկը, ըստ վերլուծաբանի, կարող է անցնել Հայաստանով, այսպես կոչված «Զանգեզուրի երթուղիով»՝ Իրանի հետ սահմանի երկայնքով։ Դա ամենաակնհայտ երթուղին էր, բայց Հայաստանը, չգիտես ինչու, փորձում է անտեսել այն։ Բացի այդ, Հյուսիս-Հարավ երթուղին ևս կարող է անցնել Հայաստանով դեպի Իրան, սակայն Հայաստանը տատանվում է և գնում այլընտրանքային ուղիների որոնման։ Քաղաքագետը հուսով է, որ այն բանից հետո, երբ Հայաստանը կավարտի Ադրբեջանի հետ բանակցությունները և կստորագրի խաղաղության ու սահմանների բացման պայմանագիրը, երկիրը կսկսի հետ բերել կորցրած ժամանակը և չի մնա լուսանցքում։ «Կարծում եմ, որ Հայաստանը նույնպես կխնդրի միանալ BRICS-ին, և ճիշտ կվարվի»,- եզրափակել է նա։

Ավելի վաղ Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները BRICS-ին միանալու պաշտոնական դիմում էին ներկայացրել։ Նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինի հետ հանդիպման ժամանակ խոսել է նաև այդ ասոցիացիայի հետ համագործակցությունն ամրապնդելու՝ հանրապետության պատրաստակամության մասին։
