Ավստրալիան 24 մլրդ դոլարանոց արևային նախագիծ է մեկնարկում

Ավստրալիայի կառավարությունը հավանություն է տվել SunCable-ի ծրագրին, որը կարժենա մոտ 24 միլիարդ դոլար: Այն ենթադրում է արևային մարտկոցների աշխարհի ամենամեծ ցանցի կառուցումը։ Ապագա մարտկոցի թողարկման երկու երրորդը կօգտագործվի Ավստրալիայի ներքին կարիքների համար, իսկ մնացած մասը մալուխով կուղարկվի Սինգապուր՝ ծածկելով քաղաք-պետության կարիքների 15 տոկոսը: Նախագիծն Ավստրալիային կտեղափողի կանաչ էներգիայի առաջնագիծ:
Արևային մարտկոցները պատրաստվում են տեղակայել 12,4 հազար հեկտար տարածքում։ Արեգակից ստացված էներգիան մալուխի միջոցով կփոխանցվի Հյուսիսային Ավստրալիայի մայրաքաղաք Դարվին, իսկ հետո 4,3 հազար կմ երկարությամբ ստորջրյա մալուխի միջոցով դեպի Սինգապուր։ Ավստրալիան եզակի երկիր է այն առումով, որը ոչ թե գնում է բնական ռեսուրսներ, այլ արտահանում է։ Խոսքը հեղուկ բնական գազի, ածխի, երկաթի հանքաքարի, ոսկու, նիկելի և նավթի մասին է։
Ավստրալիայի էլեկտրաէներգիայի կարիքների 47 տոկոսը դեռևս բավարարվում է ածուխով՝ էներգիայի ստացման «ամենակեղտոտ» աղբյուրով։ Միաժամանակ՝ երկիրը փորձում է զարգանալ այլընտրանքային էներգետիկայի ոլորտում, սակայն կառավարությունը դեռևս մտադիր չէ հապճեպ վերջ դնել ավանդական էներգիային։
Ներկայումս էներգիայի վերականգնվող աղբյուրներն ապահովում են երկրի կարիքների 32 տոկոսը։ Ակնկալվում է, որ Սինգապուրի հետ համատեղ նախագիծը կօգնի Ավստրալիային դառնալ այլընտրանքային էներգիայի գերտերություն: Այն նաև աշխատանքով կապահովի 14,3 հազար ավստրալացու։
