Երեկ՝ օգոստոսի 22-ին, «Տավուշը հանուն հայրենիքի» շարժման առաջնորդ Բագրատ Սրբազանը Սուրբ Աննա եկեղեցու բակում էր։ Չնայած այն բանին, որ Սրբազանն «Իզմիրլյան» բժշկական կենտրոնում բուժում էր ստանում, վերջինս, իր թիմակիցներին ասել էր, որ անպայման հանդիպմանը գալու է, իսկ օրվա բանախոսն էր Գարեգին Չուքազյանը:
Հանդիպման ժամանակ Բագրատ Սրբազանը հայտարարեց՝ «Սեպտեմբերին լինելու է ճշմարտության հաղթանակը, այս մարդկանց հեռացումը՝ նեռի գլխավորությամբ»:
Նա խոսք է ուղղել քաղաքական գործիչներին, ասելով, որ հարգում է բոլորի խոսքը, բայց դրանց տակ պետք է ճշմարտություն լինի:
«Մեր պայքարը շատերիդ կենդանություն է տվել, հետևաբար այս պայքարը կարող է շատերիդ թաղել։
Հայրական սրտով ասում եմ՝ ասելիք կամ անելիք ունեք, ապա դուրս եկեք փողոց ու արեք, մենք էլ ձեզ հետ։
Աշխարհաքաղաքական կենտրոնների գրասենյակներում քարշ մի եկեք, տղե՛րք, մեղք եք, մենք էլ ձեզ հետ։ Ձեզ անգամ դռան շեմի գորգի տեղ չեն ընդունելու։ Եթե մտածողներ կան, որ խոսքն իրենց մասին է՝ այո՛, հենց ձեր մասին է»:
Ինչպես նաև նա խոսել է Անկախության հռչակագրի օրվա մասին՝ նշելով․ «Մեր Հանրապետության ծնունդը պայմանավորված է մեր հռչակագրով, որում սահմանված են մեր իձղերը, երազանքներն ու ձգտումները և որոնք այս չարիքն այս պահին մեծամասամբ խլել է։
Այսօր վտանգված է մեր հռչակագիրը, մեր Սահմանադրությունը, հետևաբար մեր պետությունն ու պետականությունը։ Նեռի ու իր գործակալների պատճառով մեր պետությունը միջազգային ասպարեզում վերածվել է անհասկանալի գոյացության»:
Եկեղեցու բակում շարժման առաջնորդն անդրադարձավ նաև գրականագետ Սերժ Սրապիոնյանի մահվանը՝ ասելով, որ հիվանդությունը նրան ետ չպահեց ազգային աղետի պահին ինքնամատույց լինելու, գտնվելով բոլոր պայքարների խրամատում»:
Հիշեցնենք, որ կիրակի օրը Բագրատ Սրբազանի ինքնազգացողությունը վատացել էր ու նրան տեղափոխել էին բժշկական կենտրոն:
