ԱՄՆ Պետքարտուղարությունը ողջունել է Երևանի «Զվարթնոց» միջազգային օդանավակայանից ռուս սահմանապահների դուրսբերումը, դա անվանել է երկար սպասված քայլ։ ԱՄՆ Պետքարտուղարության մամուլի քարտուղարի առաջին տեղակալ Վեդանտ Պատելը նշել է, որ իրենք մեկնաբանել են այս հարցը մեկ տարի առաջ՝ պատասխանելով Հայաստանում Ռուսաստանի Դաշնության ԱԴԾ սահմանապահ վարչության սահմանապահների դուրսբերման գործընթացը գնահատելու խնդրանքին։

«Իհարկե, դա այն ժամանակ իրադարձությունների մտահոգիչ զարգացում էր։ Այս զարգացման մասին այլ մանրամասներ չունեմ: Բայց դա, անկասկած, ողջունելի քայլ կլինի ճիշտ ուղղությամբ»,- ասել է Պատելը:

Փաստացի, ԱՄՆ-ն հաստատում է, որ Արևմուտքն է կանգնած «Զվարթնոց»-ից ռուս սահմանապահների դուրսբերման գործընթացի թիկունքում։ Հարց կարող է ծագել, թե ինչու առայժմ Հայաստանի՝ դեպի Արևմուտք սլացող իշխանությունները չեն բարձրացնում Գյումրիի 102-րդ ռազմակայանի, հայ-թուրքական և հայ-իրանական սահմաններից ռուս սահմանապահների դուրսբերման հարցը։

Ինչպես ավելի վաղ նշել էինք, «Զվարթնոցը» առանցքային նշանակություն ունի այսօր: Երբ Հայաստան բազմաթիվ օտարերկրյա հատուկ ծառայությունների սպաներ են գալիս, իրենց հետ որոշ սարքավորումներ կամ գաղտնի ապրանքներ են բերում և հենց դա է պատճառը, որ որոշվել էր հեռացնել ռուս սահմանապահներին։ Իհարկե, եթե ՀՀ իշխանության ղեկին մնա Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը, մի օր էլ մյուս հենակետերից ռուս սահմանապահներին հանելու հարցն է ծագելու, բայց մինչ այդ Արևմուտքը դեռ ահագին գործ ունի անելու։
