Китай прекращает консультации с США по контролю над вооружениями

Китай принял решение прекратить консультации с США по контролю над вооружениями и нераспространению из-за продажи США оружия администрации острова Тайвань. Օб этом на брифинге сообщил официальный представитель МИД Китая Линь Цзян.
“В течение определенного периода времени США продолжали продажу вооружений администрации Тайваня, несмотря на решительное противодействие Китая и неоднократные переговоры. Китай принял решение приостановить очередной раунд консультаций по контролю над вооружениями и нераспространению с США”, - ТАСС приводит выдержку из сообщения Линь Цзяна.
Официальный представитель МИД Китая возложил ответственность за инцидент на американскую сторону и подчеркнул готовность Пекина поддерживать соответствующие контакты с Вашингтоном “на основе взаимного уважения, мирного сосуществования и взаимовыгодного сотрудничества”. Он призвал США “уважать основные интересы Китая и создать условия, необходимые для диалога и консультаций между двумя сторонами”.
По оценкам МИД Китая, общий объем военных поставок США на остров за несколько лет превысил $70 миллиардов.
