Թեհրանն առաջնահերթություն է տալու հարևանների հետ հարաբերությունների ամրապնդմանը։ Այս մասին իր «Իմ ուղերձը նոր աշխարհին» խորագրով հոդվածում գրել է Իրանի նորընտրի նախագահ Մասուդ Փեզեշքիանը։
Ուղերձում, որը հրապարակվել է Tehran Times-ում, նախագահ Փեզեշքիանը նշել է, որ Իրանը կողմ է «ուժեղ տարածաշրջանի» ստեղծմանը, այլ ոչ թե տարածաշրջանի, որտեղ մի երկիր ձգտում է գերիշխանության և գերակայության հասնել մյուսների նկատմամբ։
Նա համոզմունք է հայտնել, որ հարևան ու եղբայրական պետությունները չպետք է իրենց արժեքավոր ռեսուրսները վատնեն կործանարար մրցակցության, սպառազինությունների մրցավազքի և միմյանց անհիմն զսպելու վրա։ Փեզեշքիանն ընդգծել է, որ դրա փոխարեն Իրանը կձգտի ստեղծել պայմաններ, որոնցում ռեսուրսները կուղղվեն տարածաշրջանի զարգացմանն ու առաջընթացին՝ ի շահ բոլորի։
«Մենք ակնկալում ենք համագործակցություն Թուրքիայի, Սաուդյան Արաբիայի, Օմանի, Իրաքի, Բահրեյնի, Կատարի, Քուվեյթի, ԱՄԷ-ի և տարածաշրջանային կազմակերպությունների հետ՝ մեր կապերը խորացնելու և ընդհանուր խնդիրները լուծելու համար», - իր հոդվածում նշել է նախագահը՝ հավելելով, որ իր վարչակազմը կոչ կանի հարևան արաբական երկրներին համագործակցել և օգտագործել բոլոր քաղաքական և դիվանագիտական լծակները Գազայի հատվածում մշտական հրադադարին առաջնահերթություն տալու համար, որպեսզի դադարեցվի կոտորածը և կանխվի հակամարտությունների տարածումը:
Փեզեշքիանն անդրադարձել է նաև ռուս-ուկրաինական հակամարտությանը և նշել, որ Թեհրանը փորձում է խաղաղության հասնել Ռուսաստանի և Ուկրաինայի ժողովուրդների միջև, Իրանը կաջակցի դրան ուղղված նախաձեռնություններին։
«Չինաստանն ու Ռուսաստանը մեզ աջակցել են դժվարին պահերին, և մենք խորապես գնահատում ենք այս բարեկամությունը։ Ռուսաստանը Իրանի արժեքավոր ռազմավարական դաշնակիցն է և հարևանը, և իմ վարչակազմը կշարունակի ընդլայնել և ամրապնդել մեր համագործակցությունը», - գրել է նա։
Խոսելով տարածաշրջանի մասին ԻԻՀ նորընտիր նախագահը նկատել է, որ տարածաշրջանը շատ երկար է տառապել պատերազմներից, միջդավանաբանական հակամարտություններից, ահաբեկչությունից, ծայրահեղականությունից, թմրավաճառքից, ջրի պակասից, փախստականների ճգնաժամից, շրջակա միջավայրի դեգրադացիայից և օտարերկրյա միջամտությունից։
«Եկել է այդ ընդհանուր խնդիրները ի բարօրություն ապագա սերունդների լուծելու ժամանակը; Համագործակցությունը լինելու է մեր արտաքին քաղաքականության առաջնորդող սկզբունքը», - իր ուղերձում շեշտել է Իրանի նախագահը։
