ԱՄՆ-ը պետք է Հարավային Կովկասի բոլոր դերակատարներին մղի երկխոսության, որպեսզի նրանք նստեն բանակցությունների սեղանի շուրջ, խոսեն, կարգավորեն իրենց հարցերը, բացեն սահմանները, բոլոր կոմունիկացիաները, այս մասին ԱՄՆ Ատլանտյան խորհրդում այսօր տեղի ունեցած «Արդյո՞ք Հայաստանն ու Ադրբեջանը խաղաղության եզրին են» թեմայով քննարկմանն ասաց Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ նախկին դեսպան Ջոն Հեֆերնը։

«Օրինակ՝ Թուրքիան։ 2023-ի երկրաշարժի ժամանակ Հայաստանը մարդասիրական օգնություն ուղարկեց Թուրքիա, որը սահմանը ժամանակավորապես բացեց, որպեսզի ստանա հայ ժողովրդի, Սփյուռքի, կառավարության ուղարկած մարդասիրական օգնությունը։ Իսկ ի՞նչ արեց դրանից հետո Անկարան։ Նրան փակեցին սահմանը։ Նրանք ստացան օգնությունը, այն եկավ մի ուղղությամբ՝ Հայաստանից Թուրքիա, իսկ հետո նրանք փակեցին սահմանը։ Դուք ձե՞ռ եք առնում։ Դա ի՞նչ հարևան է, դա ի՞նչ մոտեցում է։ Ահավոր է»,- ասաց նա։

Նրա խոսքով՝ տարածաշրջանային մակարդակում փաթեթային գործարքները, միմյանց նկատմամբ վստահությանն ուղղված միջոցներն այն ուղին են, որով պետք է անցնել քայլ առ քայլ, որպեսզի բոլոր երկրները սկսեն խոսել միմյանց հետ, կարողանան գտնել ուղիներ՝ հասնելու բոլորի համար շահավետ լուծումների՝ բացել սահմանները, առևտուր անել միմյանց հետ, ներդրումներ անել և աջակցեն միմյանց այս բարդ տարածաշրջանում։
