Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը երեկ հեռախոսազրույց է ունեցել Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիբ Էրդողանի հետ, միմյանց շնորհավորել են, Փաշինյանն էրդողանին՝ «Կուրբան Բայրամի», իսկ Թուրքիայի նախագահը՝ Հայաստանի վարչապետի պաշտոնը զբաղեցնող անձին՝ գալիք «Վարդավառի» կապակցությամբ։
 
Էրդողանը նաև ցավակցել է Փաշինյանին Հայաստանի հյուսիսային շրջաններում վերջերս տեղի ունեցած ջրհեղեղի կապակցությամբ։ Ցավակցություններն ու շնորհավորանքներն այսքանով ավարտվել են, նրանք ընդգծել են նաև իրենց քաղաքական կամքն առանց որևէ նախապայմանի Հայաստանի և Թուրքիայի հարաբերությունների ամբողջական կարգավորման վերաբերյալ, նշել երկու երկրների հատուկ ներկայացուցիչների հանդիպումների շարունակականության կարևորությունը, վերահաստատել են մինչ այժմ ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածությունները։
 
Սա առաջին անգամը չէ, որ Փաշինյանն ու Էրդողանը զրուցում են, նախորդ տարի ևս նույն ձևով զանգահարել և շնորհավորել են տոների կապակցությամբ։
 
Տևական ժամանակ Հայաստանի և Թուրքիայի հատուկ բանագնացները հանդիպումներ չեն ունենում, թեպետ Անթալիայում կայացած համաժողովում Թուրքիայի ներկայացուցիչ Սերդար Քըլըչն առաջարկել էր հանդիպում իրականացնել հենց Երևանում։
 
Ըստ երեույթին, վերջին հեռախոսազանգից հետո այդ ուղղությամբ քայլերին նոր լիցք կհաղորդեն։ Թուրքիան շահագրգիռ է Երևանի հետ հարաբերությունները կարգավորելու իմաստով, այդ կերպ ավելի կամրապնդվի Թուրքիայի դերը հարավկովկասյան տարածաշրջանում։
 
Ադրբեջանին լիակատար կախվածության մեջ գցելով, Վրաստանում իր բիզնես և քաղաքական շահերն առաջ մղելով՝ Թուրքիան այժմ ցանկանում է ազդեցության ոլորտները տարածել նաև Հայաստանում, իսկ առանց որևէ նախապայմանի, հարաբերությունների կարգավորում չի լինելու։ Անկարան մշտապես է նախապայմաններ առաջ քաշել Հայաստանի հետ հարաբերություններում։
