Ավստրալիան և Նոր Զելանդիան բավականին լուրջ խնդրի առջև են կանգնած էներգետիկ առումով։ Նոր զելանդական փորձագետների գնահատմամբ՝ երկու երկրները բավարար չափով գումարներ չեն ներդնում արտադրված արևային էլեկտրաէներգիայի պահպանման մարտկոցների համար, ինչը թույլ չի տալիս արդյունավետ օգտագործել արևային էներգետիկան։

Ըստ մասնագետների՝ ավստրալիական տների մեկ երրորդում արևային վահանակները տեղադրված են տանիքներին, իսկ որոշ նահանգներում հենց շենքերի վրա, բայց միայն չափազանց փոքր մասն ունի համապատասխան մարտկոցներ, որոնք թույլ կտան կուտակել էլեկտրաէներգիան և օգտագործել ոչ բարենպաստ եղանակային պայմաններում կամ գիշերը։

Ի տարբերություն նոր զելանդական էներգոհամակարգի, որն 85 %-ով բաղկացած է վերականգնվող էներգիայի աղբյուրներից, Ավստրալիան էլեկտրաէներգիայի 60 %-ը դեռ ստանում է գազի և ածխի շնորհիվ, բայց արևային էներգիայի առումով Ավստրալիան գերազանցում է Նոր Զելանդիային, որտեղ էներգիայի հիմնական աղբյուրը հողմաղացներն են և հիդրոէլեկտրակայանները։

Ներկայումս նոր զելանդացի մասնագետներն առաջարկել են բավականին մեծ գումարներ ծախսել մարտկոցներ ներկրելու, առանձին թաղամասերում, կամ բնակավայրերում դրանք տեղադրելու, որպեսզի արտադրված արևային էլեկտրաէներգիան կուտակեն և կարողանան օգտագործել, կամ էլ վաճառել ընդհանուր էներգոհամակարգին։

Ավստալիական և նոր զելանդական կառավարությունները խոստացել են սուբսիդավորել, բայց ոչ շատ։ Այդ երկու երկրներն առանձնապես խնդիր չունեն էլեկտրաէներգիայի առումով և պետությունը միայն բյուրոկրատական քաշքշուկներն են վերացրել։

Մարտկոցներ գնելու և պահանջարկն ապահովելու համար նոր զելանդացիները մտադիր են դիմել Միացյալ Նահանգներին։

Հայաստանն արևային վահանակներ արտադրող մեկ ընկերություն ունի՝ «Սոլարոնը»։
