Արևային էներգիայի արդյունաբերության ասոցիացիայի (SEIA) տվյալներով ԱՄՆ-ի արևային արդյունաբերությունը գերազանցել է 5 միլիոն արևային կայանները ամբողջ երկրում: Դա տեղի է ունենում ընդամենը ութ տարի այն բանից հետո, երբ այն հասել էր իր առաջին միլիոն տեղադրմանը 2016 թվականին, գրում է Ferra.ru-ն:
Երկրի շուկայում շարունակում են գերակշռել բնակելի տնային արևային կայանները, որոնք կազմում են կայանների 97%-ը: Այդ ոլորտը հինգ տարի անընդմեջ ռեկորդային աճ է գրանցել, որը պայմանավորված է քաղաքացիների չէժանացող էլեկտրաէներգիայի ինքնարժեքը վերահսկելու ցանկությամբ։ Կալիֆոռնիան է շարունակում մնալ առաջատարը 2 միլիոն արևային կայանների տեղակայմամբ, սակայն մյուս նահանգները ևս արագորեն բարելավում են իրենց ցուցանիշները: Օրինակ, Իլինոյսում տեղադրումների թիվը 2017-ի 2500-ից հասել է ավելի քան 87000-ի:
SEIA-ի կանխատեսումներով մինչև 2030 թվականը կլինի արևային կայանքների կրկնապատկում մինչև 10 միլիոն, իսկ մինչև 2034 թվականը կլինի եռապատկում` մինչև 15 միլիոն:
