Այսօր երեխաների պաշտպանության միջազգային օրն է

Ամեն տարի այս օրը՝ հունիսի 1-ին, աշխարհի տարբեր անկյուններում նշվում է որպես երեխաների պաշտպանության միջազգային օր (International Children’s Day):
Այն հաստատվել է 1949 թվականին Փարիզում Կանանց միջազգային դեմոկրատական ֆեդերացիայի կողմից։ Տոնն առաջին անգամ նշվել է 1950 թվականին։
Հայաստանը Երեխաների իրավունքների մասին կոնվենցիան վավերացրել է 1990 թվականին, 1996 թվականին ընդունվել է «Երեխայի իրավունքների մասին» ՀՀ օրենքը։ Տոնը նշում են հանրապետության բոլոր մարզերում և Երևանում, ամեն տարի կազմակերպվում են տարատեակ միջոցառումներ։
Երեխաների պաշտպանության միջազգային օրը ամենահին միջազգային տոներից մեկն է։ Տոնի հիմնադրման մասին որոշումը կայացվել է դեռեւս 1925 թվականին Ժնեւում կայացած համաշխարհային համաժողովի ժամանակ, որը նվիրված էր երեխաների բարեկեցության հարցերին։ Պատմությունը լռում է, թե ինչու է երեխաներին նվիրված տոնի համար ընտրվել հենց հունիսի 1-ը։
Վարկածներից մեկի համաձայն՝ 1925 թվականի հունիսի 1-ին Չինաստանի Գլխավոր հյուպատոսը Սան Ֆրանցիսկոյում հավաքել էր չինացի ծնողազուրկ երեխաներին եւ նրանց համար կազմակերպել Դուան-ու ցզե տոնը (Վիշապանավերի փառատոն՝ ըստ չինական ավանդույթի)։ Երջանիկ պատահականությամբ՝ այդ օրը համընկել էր Ժնեւում «մանկական» համաժողովի անցկացման շրջանի հետ։
Նույն օրը նշվում է եւս մեկ հուզիչ տոն՝ Ծնողների համաշխարհային օրը (Global Day of Parents), որը հռչակվել է ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր Ասամբլեայի 66-րդ նստաշրջանի ընթացքում (66/292 բանաձեւ)` 2012 թվականի սեպտեմբերին, եւ սկսած 2013 թվականից՝ նշվում է ամեն տարի ամռան առաջին օրը՝ «աշխարհում բոլոր ծնողների պատվին»։
Տոնի նպատակն է հիշեցնել մոլորակի բնակիչներին համամարդկային արժեքների մասին, պաշտպանել եւ ամրապնդել դրանք՝ որպես ամուր եւ բարոյապես կայացած ընտանիքի հիմք։ Չէ՞ որ հենց ընտանիքն է (նախ՝ ծնողները) պատասխանատվություն կրում երեխաների դաստիարակության եւ պաշտպանության համար, որպեսզի նրանց անձի լիարժեք ու ներդաշնակ զարգացումը ընթանա ընտանեկան միջավայրում եւ երջանկության, սիրո ու փոխըմբռնման մթնոլորտում։
ՄԱԿ-ի Գլխավոր Ասամբլեան կոչ է անում Միավորված ազգերի կազմակերպության բոլոր անդամ պետություններին միանալ Ծնողների օրվա տոնակատարությանը, եւ նշել այն քաղաքացիական հասարակության հետ բազմակողմանի գործընկերության շրջանակում՝ ներգրավելով երիտասարդությանն եւ երեխաներին։
