Հայաստանի գործող իշխանությունները նպատակ ունեն ամեն կերպ նսեմացնել երեկ Հանրապետության Հրապարակում տեղի ունեցած հանրահավաքը, ինչպես նաև հանրահավաքի մասնակիցների թիվը։ Մասնավորապես, մինչ ռուսական տարբեր աղբյուրներ՝ այդ թվում պետական «ՏԱՍՍ» գործակալությունը հայտնում էին, որ հանրահավաքին մասնակցել է գրեթե 100 հազար մարդ, բազմաթիվ լրատվամիջոցներ էլ տեսանյութեր էին հրապարակում հրապարակի բազմամարդության վերաբերյալ, գործող իշխանության ներկայացուցիչները պնդում էին, թե հանրությունն առանձնապես ականջալուր չի եղել Բագրատ արքեպիսկոպոս Գալստանյանի կոչին և չափազանց քիչ մարդիկ են մասնակցել հանրահավաքին։

Իշխանությունների ազդեցության տակ գտնվող «Իրազեկ քաղաքացիների մաիվորումն» էլ տեսանյութ և լուսանկարներ էր հրապարակել՝ փորձելով համոզել, թե հանրահավաքին մասնակցել է 23100 մարդ։ Փաստացի, գործող վարչախումբն այնքան անհանգստացած է հանրահավաքի փաստից, որ բոլոր կեղծիքներին պատրաստ է դիմել, մասնակիցների թիվը նվազեցնելու, տպավորություն ստեղծելու, թե իբր հանրությունը չի գնում Բագրատ արքեպիսկոպոս Գալստանյանի ետևից։ Խնդիրը, սակայն, հենց հակառակն է։
