Самый ожидаемый фильм Каннского кинофестиваля в этом году, «Мегаполис» Фрэнсиса Форда Копполы, мировая премьера которого состоялась в четверг вечером, получил семиминутные аплодисменты стоя, сообщает Deadline.

85-летний режиссёр и пятикратный обладатель премии «Оскар»поклонился, когда зажёгся свет в Большом театре. Коппола сказал собравшимся: «Спасибо вам всем, невозможно найти слова, чтобы выразить то, что я чувствую». Затем он представил своих гостей, в том числе свою внучку и сына Романа Копполу и сестру Талию Шири. «Мы должны поклясться в верности нашим семьям, что дети унаследуют от нас прекрасный мир».

«Мегаполис» - это римская эпическая басня, действие которой разворачивается в воображаемой Америке. Главную роль в картине исполняет Адам Драйвер. В актёрский состав фильма также входят Обри Плаза, Шайя Лабаф, Джон Войт, Джейсон Шварцман, Лоуренс Фишберн, Кэтрин Хантер, Грейс Вандервалл, Хлоя Файнман, Джеймс Ремар, Д.Б. Суини и Дастин Хоффман.
