Արագ տեմպերով զարգացող արևային էներգետիկան հանգեցնում է արծաթի պահանջարկի կտրուկ աճի։ Այդ մետաղը մեծ քանակությամբ անհրաժեշտ է արևային մարտկոցների արտադրության համար։

«World street journal» պարբերականի տեղեկություններով՝ թանկարժեք մետաղի ֆիզիկական հատկությունները՝ բարձր ջերմային և էլեկտրաթողունակությունը, ինչպես նաև անդրադարձնող ընդունակությունը, արծաթն անհրաժեշտ բաղադրիչ է դարձնում ֆոտոէլեկտրական վահանակների արտադրության համար։

Միջազգային էներգետիկ գործակալության մայիսյան զեկույցի տվյալներով՝ արևային վահանակների արտադրության մեջ համաշխարհային ներդրումներն աճել են ավելի քան 2 անգամ՝ հասնելով 80 միլիարդ դոլարի։ Բացի այդ, դա 40 %-ն է բոլոր ներդրումների, որոնք ուղղված են էկոլոգիապես մաքուր տեխնոլոգիաների զարգացմանը։ Գործակալությունը նշում է, որ կտրուկ աճը հանգեցրել է նաև արծաթի գների աճի։ Ապրիլին մեկ ունցիա արծաթի գինը հասել է 28,84 դոլարի, որն առավելագույնն է վերջին 10 տարիների ընթացքում, եթե աճը շարունակվի արևային ֆոտոէլեկտրական վահանակների արտադրողները ստիպված կլինեն բարձրացնել իրենց արտադրանքի գներն արդեն 2024 թվականին, սակայն, նույնիսկ այդ գործոնը չի ազդի դրանց պահանջարկի վրա։

Ներկայումս արևային վահանակները համեմատաբար ավելի էժան են, քան էներգիայի ստացման այլ մեթոդները։ Ընդ որում, փորձագետները նաև նշում են, որ արծաթի գները կարող են աճել մի քանի անգամ առաջիկա տասնամյակում։
