1954թ.-ի հունվարի 21-ին Ջուրն է իջեցվել առաջին ատոմային սուզանավը

Անի Ասլանյանը ֆեյսբուքյան իր էջում գրում է.
Սուզանավը ռազմական նպատակներով օգտագործելու միտքն առաջինն արտահայտել է Լեոնարդո դա Վինչին, միտքը տեղ է գտել Ժյուլ Վեռնի 1870թ.-ին գրված «20 000 լյո ջրի տակ» վեպում:
Սուզանավի գործող օրինակն առաջին անգամ 1620թ.-ին ստեղծել է հոլանդացի ինժեներ Կոռնելիուս վան Դրեբելը Անգլիայի թագավոր Ջեյմսի համար: Լոնդոնում կառուցվել և Թեմզայում հաջողությամբ փորձարկվել է թիակավոր սուզանավ:
Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի ժամանակ դիզելային շարժիչով սուզանավեր են ստեղծվել մակերևույթին և էլեկտրական ջրի տակ շարժվելու համար: Դիզելային շարժիչին գեներատոր են կցել, որն էլեկտրաէներգիա է արտադրել մարտկոցների վերալիցքավորման համար:
Առաջին համաշխարհային պատերազմի տարիներին ստորջրյա ճակատի արագ զարգացման հետևանքով սուզանավերը զենք են դարձել: 1954թ.-ի հունվարի 21-ին Կոնեկտիկուտ նահանգի Գրոտոնի նավաշինարանից դուրս է եկել աշխարհում առաջին ատոմային սուզանավը:
Առաջին ատոմային սուզնավն անվանել են ժյուլ Վեռնի «Նաուտիլուսի» անունով: Նավն ունեցել է 97 մ երկարություն և 8.2 մ լայնություն: Նավն այն ժամանակ ամերիկացիների համար ռեկորդային ժամանակ է անցկացրել ջրի տակ՝ 20 հանգույց:
«Նաուտիլուսն» առաջին սուզանավն է եղել, որն Արկտիկայի սառույցների տակից 1958թ.-ի օգոստոսի 3-ին անցել է Հյուսիսային բևեռը: Այսօր Ռուսաստանը, Չինաստանը, ԱՄՆ-ն, Մեծ Բրիտանիան և Ֆրանսիան 100-ից ավել սուզանավ են օգտագործում:
