Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը նամակ է հղել Հռոմի պապ Ֆրանցիսկոսին՝ Մերձավոր Արևելքում միջազգային իրավունքի խախտումները դադարեցնելու անհրաժեշտության մասին։ Այս մասին հայտարարել է Թուրքիայի ղեկավարի վարչակազմը։

«Ես ուրախ եմ, որ Թուրքիայի և Վատիկանի միջև պատմականորեն սերտ հարաբերությունները շարունակում են ամրապնդվել <...> Հասկանալով, որ սպանությունն արգելված է աբրահամական բոլոր կրոնների կողմից, մարդկությունն այլևս չպետք է հանդուրժի Գազայի հատվածում միջազգային իրավունքի խախտումները: Այն պետք է ավելի բարձրաձայն արտահայտվի հիվանդանոցների, դպրոցների, մզկիթների և եկեղեցիների կանխամտածված ռմբակոծությունների դեմ, որոնց չի կարելի դիպչել նույնիսկ պատերազմի ժամանակ»,- ասվում է նամակում։

Էրդողանը նշել է, որ միջազգային հանրությունից պահանջվում է ավելի շատ համագործակցություն։

«Գազայում սովից մահանում են մարդիկ՝ մարդասիրական օգնություն հասցնելու անհնարինության պատճառով։ Անհնար է Մերձավոր Արևելքում մշտական ​​խաղաղություն և կայունություն հաստատել առանց պաղեստինա-իսրայելական հարցի արդարացի լուծման։ Հրամայական է, որ Պաղեստինի անկախ, ինքնիշխան և աշխարհագրորեն ինտեգրված պետությունը ստեղծվի 1967 թվականի սահմաններում՝ մայրաքաղաք Արևելյան Երուսաղեմով և իր տեղը գրավի համաշխարհային համակարգում՝ որպես միջազգային հանրության իրավահավասար անդամ»,- ասել է Էրդողանը։
