Президент США Джо Байден планирует поучаствовать в мирной конференции по Украине, которую намерена провести Швейцария. Об этом пишет швейцарская газета Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ), ссылаясь на источники.

Как отмечает издание, официальные подтверждения в таких случаях обычно делаются незадолго до мероприятия, тем более что Швейцария и Украина пока еще не отправили приглашения сторонам, которые должны принять участие в конференции.

8 апреля агентство Bloomberg со ссылкой на источники назвало возможную дату проведения первого мирного саммита по Украине в Швейцарии. Ожидается, что мероприятие пройдет 16–17 июня текущего года.

На прошлой неделе официальный представитель швейцарского МИД Пьер Ален Эльчингер заявил, что Швейцарии важно объединить различные точки зрения для возможности пути к миру на Украине.

Тогда же в пресс-службе посольства РФ в Берне сообщили, что Российская Федерация не будет принимать участие в конференции по урегулированию на Украине, которую пытается организовать Швейцария.
