Արեւմուտքը փորձում է Հարավային Կովկասի իրավիճակը վերադարձնել տարածաշրջանի պատմության ամենավատ շրջանը։ Այս մասին հայտնել է ՌԴ ԱԳՆ պաշտոնական ներկայացուցիչ Մարիա Զախարովան ապրիլի 10-ի ճեպազրույցում։
Պատասխանելով այն հարցին, թե փորձում է արդյոք Երեւանը Ռուսաստանը փոխարինել Արեւմուտքով Ադրբեջանի հետ բանակցություններում, նա նշել է. «Ես կասեի, որ մենք պետք է խոսենք ոչ թե կոնկրետ կետային մեխանիզմների, այլ գլոբալ միտումների մասին։ Ռուսաստանը հանդես է եկել որպես տարածաշրջանային խնդիրների կարգավորման միջնորդ՝ արդյունավետության բարձր աստիճանով, ի շահ խաղաղության եւ հօգուտ տարածաշրջանի բոլոր երկրների։ Դա կոնյունկտուրային խաղ չէր, խաղ չէր հանուն իրեն եւ օգուտ սեփական շահերի։ Դա մեր ավանդն էր տարածաշրջանի ապագայում։ Փորձ՝ գտնելու ընդհանուր մոտեցումներ եւ ներդաշնակեցնելու հակասությունները հանուն խաղաղության հաստատման այդ երկրների միջեւ եւ տարածաշրջանում առհասարակ։ Դա պարզապես փիլիսոփայական հայեցակարգ չէր, դա փիլիսոփայական հայեցակարգ էր, որը դարձավ իրականություն եւ ամրագրվեց փաստաթղթերում, որը սկսեց իրագործվել։ Եվ ահա այստեղ հայտնվեց Արեւմուտքը։ Որը խանդի եւ անվերջ չարության զգացումից, ինչպես նաեւ ելնելով տարածաշրջանում ներդրվելու ձգտումից, որտեղ կարող է խաղաղություն հաստատվել, խախտեց այդ միտումն ու սկսեց իր մասին հայտարարել որպես նոր միջնորդի, բայց, ինչպես մենք քանիցս արդեն մեկնաբանել ենք, գործառույթը, դերը եւ ակնհայտ կոնկրետ գործողությունները հակառակն են վկայում. այնտեղ խոսքը միջնորդության մասին չէ, այնտեղ խոսքը, նախ, իրավիճակն ապակայունացնելու փարձերի մասին է, երկրորդ՝ իրավիճակը տարածաշրջանի ամենավատ ժամանակներին վերադարձնելու, հաջորդ պահն, իհարկե, տեղեկության հավաքումն է նորից ոչ թե հօգուտ տարածաշրջանի խաղաղության, այլ իրենց շահերի՝ ընդդեմ տարածաշրջանի երկրների։
Յուրաքանչյուր ինքնիշխան պետություն իրավունք ունի իրականացնելու իր սեփական ներքին եւ արտաքին քաղաքականությունը։ Դա ակնհայտ է։ Բայց հարցը միայն այն է, որ, ցավոք, մենք տեսնում ենք, որ դա տեղի է ունենում ոչ թե հօգուտ հայտարարված նպատակների, այլ հակասում է դրանց։ Եվ դա նաեւ խախտում է ուժերի ու շահերի այն հավասարակշռությունը, որոնք կան տարածաշրջանում ու որոնք կարեւոր են առհասարակ տարածաշրջանի համար, ոչ թե մեկ կամ երկու կոնկրետ պետության։ Եվ մենք տեսնում ենք կոնկրետ օրինակներ, թե ինչպես է Արեւմուտքը նման ձեւով խախտել կամ հենց նոր սաղմնավորվող ներդաշնակությունը, կամ արդեն առկա խնդրահարույց հարցերի ներդաշնակեցումը աշխարհի տարբեր կետերում»,- նշել է Մարիա Զախարովան։
