Հայաստանի իշխանությունները հույսեր ունեն, որ առնվազն 8 տարի գազի գինը կայուն կմնա։ Տարածքային կառավարման և ենթակառուցվածքների փոխնախարար Հակոբ Վարդանյանը Ազգային ժողովում հայտարարել է, թե Հայաստանում 5 տարի է գազի գինը կայուն է։ «Կարծում եմ շատ մեծ շանսեր կան, որ առնվազն ևս 8 տարի գազի գինը կմնա նույնը, եթե շատ մեծ աշխարհաքաղաքական և շուկայական փոփոխություններ տեղի չունենա»,- ասել է նա, հավելել, թե Կառավարությունն օգտագործում է բոլոր հնարավորությունները, որ գազի գինը պահպանվի կամ լինի ավելի մատչելի։

Ներկայումս 100 խորանարդ մետր գազի գինը սահմանին 165 դոլար է։ Հայ-ռուսական հարաբերությունների վատթարացման ֆոնին՝ տեղեկություններ են շրջանառվում , որ Ռուսաստանը կարող է բարձրացնել գազի սակագինը։

Ուկրաինայում հատուկ գործողության ֆոնին, երբ Եվրոպայում գազի 1000 խորանարդ մետրը հասել էր մինչև 2000 դոլարի, Հայաստանի համար գազի սակագինը պահպանվել էր նույն մակարդակին։ Մի կողմից Հայաստանի իշխանությունները Ռուսաստանին մեղադրում են իրենց դեմ տնտեսական պատժամիջոցներ ձեռնարկելու մեջ, մյուս կողմից ակնհայտ է, որ գազի մասով Ռուսաստանը որևէ կերպ Հայաստանի տնտեսությանը չի վնասում։

Մոսկվան առայժմ տնտեսական ամենածանր քայլին չի դեմել, փաստ է, որ Հայաստանում գազի սակագինը բարձրացնելու դեպքում հայկական տնտեսությունը ծանրագույն հարված կստանա, ընդհուպ մինչև կարող է փլուզվել, և այս մեկ դրվագը վկայում է, որ Հայաստանի իշխանությունները մանիպուլացիաներ են անում՝ Ռուսաստանին մեղադրելով վնասակար քաղաքականություն վարելու մեջ։
