Մարտի 1-ին կյանքից հեռացել է Dragon Ball (Dragon Ball) մանգայի և անիմե ֆրանշիզայի ստեղծող Ակիրա Տորիյաման, հայտնում է Bird Studio անիմե ստուդիայի մամուլի ծառայությունը, որը ստեղծվել է նկարչի կողմից 1983 թվականին։ Մահվան պատճառը սուր սուբդուրալ հեմատոմա էր։ Տորիյաման 68 տարեկան էր։

«Մանգայի ստեղծող Ակիրա Տորիյաման մահացել է մարտի 1-ին սուր սուբդուրալ հեմատոմայի պատճառով։ Մեր ընդհանուր մեծ կորուստն այն է, որ նա ժամանակ չունեցավ մի քանի նախագծեր ավարտելու»,- ասվում է ստուդիայի հայտարարության մեջ, որը հրապարակվել է անիմե ֆրանշիզայի պաշտոնական կայքում։

Bird Studio-ն պարզաբանել է, որ Ակիրա Տորիյամայի հուղարկավորությունը տեղի է ունեցել միայն նրա ընտանիքի անդամների և «շատ փոքր թվով հարազատների» մասնակցությամբ։ Ստուդիայում նշել են, որ արտիստի մահվան կապակցությամբ ցավակցական ծաղիկներ չեն ընդունելու, ինչպես նաև խնդրել են զերծ մնալ նրա ընտանիքի անդամներին հարցեր տալուց։

Ակիրա Տորիյաման ծնվել է 1955 թվականի ապրիլին Այչի պրեֆեկտուրայում։ Նկարչի ամենահայտնի գործերից մեկը Dragon Ball մանգան էր, որն առաջին անգամ հրատարակվել է 1985 թվականին։ Dragon Ball-ը պատմում է Սոն Գոկու անունով մի տղայի մասին, որն իր ընկերների հետ ճամփորդում է՝ գտնելու վիշապի յոթ մարգարիտները: Ճապոնիայում մանգան վաճառվել է մոտ 160 միլիոն օրինակով և ավելի քան 260 միլիոն ամբողջ աշխարհում։
