В Гаити объявили режим ЧС из-за тысяч сбежавших заключенных

Правительство Гаити объявило 72-часовое чрезвычайное положение после того, как вооруженные банды штурмовали крупную тюрьму Порт-о-Пренса, в результате чего погибли по меньшей мере 12 человек, а около 4 тыс. заключенных сбежали, сообщают зарубежные СМИ.
Штурм Национальной тюрьмы произошел вечером в субботу, через два дня после того, как гаитянский премьер-министр отправился в Кению договариваться о размещении на Гаити международного контингента для борьбы с бандитизмом, а один из главарей бандитов по кличке Барбекю объявил премьеру войну.
Журналист агентства France-Presse посетил тюрьму в Порт-о-Пренсе и сообщил, что ее двери открыты, а внутри здания «почти никого нет». По его словам, десять человек погибли, их тела с пулевыми ранениями находятся рядом с тюрьмой.
Власти Гаити объявили, что полиция одновременно пыталась отбить атаки на эту тюрьму и еще на одну, Круа-де-Буке. Сколько человек бежало из второй тюрьмы, не сообщается, в первой же по списку сидели около 3800 человек, и в камерах остались, по сведениям Reuters, 99 из них.
Среди этих оставшихся — бывшие колумбийские солдаты, посаженные по обвинению в соучастии в убийстве президента Гаити Жовенеля Моиза в июле 2021 года.
