Բանկային գաղտնիքը ողջ աշխարհում պահպանվում է օրենքով։ Թերևս մի քանի երկրներ, այդ թվում նաև փաշինյանական տիրապետության տակ գտնվող Հայաստանն է, որ հանում է բանկային գաղտնիքը և թույլ է տալիս պետեկամուտների ծառայությանն առանց խոչընդոտների վերահսկել բոլոր գումարների շարժը։

Մինչև վերջին օրենսդրական փոփոխությունները, պետեկամուտների կոմիտեն բանկային գաղտնիք պարունակող տեղեկություններ կարող էր պահանջել իրավաբանական անձանցից, այն էլ միայն վերջիններիս համաձայնությամբ, կամ դատարանի որոշումից հետո։ Տարբեր գումարների շարժն առանցքային նշանակություն ունի գործող իշխանությունների համար։ Փորձում են վերահսկել բանկային բոլոր փոխանցումները՝ դա տնտեսական և քաղաքական սպառնալիք համարելով սեփական իշխանությանը։ Ուստի Ազգային ժողովն այս շաբաթ 64 կողմ, 31 դեմ ձայներով ու ամբողջությամբ ընդունեց նախագիծը, որով Հայաստանի բոլոր քաղաքացիների բանկային տվյալները հասանելի են դառնում հարկայինին։

Այսուհետ Հայաստանի յուրաքանչյուր քաղաքացի, ով գումար է ներդնում հայկական բանկերում, այլևս չի կարող վստահ լինել իր ավանդների գաղտնիության վրա։ Թե ինչպիսի՞ հետևանքներ դա կունենա և ինչպես կազդի բանկային համակարգի վրա, դեռևս բարդ է ասել, սակայն, ըստ վերլուծաբանների, շատերը հատկապես մեծ գումար ունեցողները, այս օրենքից հետո կնախընտրեն բանկերից հանել իրենց գումարները և փոխանցել այլ, նույնիսկ հարևան երկրների բանկեր, որպեսզի խնդիրներ չունենան պետեկամուտների կոմիտեի հետ, մինչդեռ բանկային համակարգը տասնամյակներ շարունակ Հայաստանի առանցքային և կայուն ոլորտներից մեկն է համարվել։
