ԵՄ արտաքին գործերի և անվտանգության քաղաքականության բարձր ներկայացուցիչ Ժոզեպ Բորելը միջազգային մարդասիրական իրավունքի լուրջ խախտում է անվանել հարվածը Գազայի հատվածին՝ այնտեղ մարդասիրական օգնության բաշխման ժամանակ։ Այս մասին նա գրել է X սոցիալական հարթակում։
«Ինձ սարսափեցնում են Գազայում, որտեղ հումանիտար օգնության հուսահատ կարիք կա, խաղաղ բնակիչների շրջանում հերթական արյունալի սպանդի մասին լուրերը։ Այդ մահերը բացարձակապես անընդունելի են», - գրել է Բորելը։
Նա հավելել է, որ «մարդկանց պարենային օգնությունից զրկելը միջազգային մարդասիրական իրավունքի լուրջ խախտում է»՝ կոչ անելով ապահովել հումանիտար օգնության անարգել մուտք Գազայի հատված։
Պաղեստինյան անկլավի առողջապահության նախարարության տվյալներով՝ Գազա քաղաքի հարավ-արևմուտքում մարդասիրական օգնության բաշխմանն սպասող մարդկանց խմբի վրա իսրայելական ուժերի հարձակման զոհերի թիվը հասել է 112-ի։ Տուժել է 760 մարդ։
Արևմտյան շատ երկրներ, ներառյալ՝ Ֆրանսիան, Կանադան և Իսպանիան, դատապարտել են այդ հարձակումը։ Իսրայելը հայտարարել է, որ մարդկանց մեծ մասը զոհվել է հրմշտոցի ժամանակ և բեռնատարների տակ ընկնելու հետևանքով։
