«Փաստ» օրաթերթը գրում է.
Նախօրեին պարզ դարձավ, որ դատախազը «սեփական նախաձեռնությամբ փոխել է Քննչական կոմիտեում քննվող քրեական վարույթով անցնող մեղադրյալ՝ «Սիներջի» ընկերության հիմնադիր-տնօրեն Աշոտ Հովհաննիսյանի նկատմամբ կիրառված խափանման միջոց կալանքը»: «Փաստ» թերթի տեղեկություններով, իրականում Հովհաննիսյանն ազատ է արձակվել Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատան ճնշումների արդյունքում:
Ի մասնավորի, մեր աղբյուրի փոխանցմամբ, այս հարցը առանցքայիններից մեկն է եղել նաև Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի և Հայաստանում ԱՄՆ արտակարգ և լիազոր դեսպան Քրիստինա Քվինի՝ փետրվարի 6-ին կայացած հանդիպման ժամանակ, թեպետ, բնականաբար, այդ մասին պաշտոնական հաղորդագրության մեջ ոչինչ նշված չէ: Ավելին, մեր աղբյուրները պնդում են, որ չնայած դատարանի՝ որևէ տեսակցության արգելքին, ԱՄՆ դեսպանին թույլատրվել է այցելել ՔԿՀ ու անձամբ հանդիպել «Սիներջի» ընկերության հիմնադիր-տնօրեն Աշոտ Հովհաննիսյանին:
Հատկանշական է, որ ժողովրդավարական համարվող երկրի դեսպանը Հայաստանում տասնյակ քաղբանտարկյալների հարցում որևէ կարծիք չի հայտնել, իսկ ահա «Սիներջիի» տնօրենի հարցով շահագրգռություն է ցուցաբերել: Դե, երևի, «ժողովրդավարությունը՝ առանձին, երկրի բիզնես հետաքրքրությունները՝ առանձին» սկզբունքն է գործում:
