Մեծ Բրիտանիան հիմնավորապես տեղավորվում է Հարավային Կովկասում։ Ադրբեջանական լրատվամիջոցների տեղեկություններով՝ BP-ի դուստր ձեռնարկությունը ՝«Lightsource»-ը, արևային էլեկտրաէներգիայի կայան է կառուցելու Ջաբրաիլում՝ Արաքս գետից հյուսիս-արևմուտք։ Սա Արցախից զավթած տարածքն է, որն ընկնում է Իրանի հետ Ադրբեջանի սահմանին։
Արևային էլեկտրակայանի համար 802 հեկտար տարածք են տրամադրել, և շինարարությունը սկսվելու է այս տարվա աշնանը։ Նախատեսվում է ավարտին հասցնել կառույցը մեկ տարվա ընթացքում և շահագործումը սկսել 2025 թվականի դեկտեմբերին։
Բրիտանիան, որը Հարավային Կովկասում շոշափելի առևտրային և քաղաքական շահեր ունի հատկապես նավթագազային ոլորտում, այժմ էլ փորձում է իր ձեռքում կենտրոնացնել արևային էներգիան։ Մի կողմից՝ հաստատվելով Ադրբեջանում և ներդրումներ անելով, մյուս կողմից Բրիտանիան նաև փորձում է քայլեր ձեռնարկել Հայաստանի ֆինանսական շուկան իր ձեռքը վերցնելու համար։ Այդ նպատակի իրականացման համար հայտարարվել է Հայաստանի բանկային համակարգի խոշորագույն բանկերից մեկի՝ «Ամերիայի» «Bank of Georgia»-ի կողմից գնման մասին։ Թեև բանկը կոչվում է Վրաստանի բանկ, սակայն այն Մեծ Բրիտանիայում գրանցված ընկերություն է, հիմնականում բրիտանական և ամերիկյան կապիտալով և ամբողջությամբ ենթարկվում է Լոնդոնի օֆիսին։
«Bank of Georgia» Վրաստանի առաջատար բանկն է, որը կարողանում է ազդել ֆինանսական շուկայի ամբողջ շարժի վրա։ Այժմ էլ Հայաստանում գնելով «Ամերիա» բանկը և ավելացնելով դրա պորտֆելը՝ բրիտանացիները վերահսկողություն են ունենալու նաև Հայաստանի Հանրապետության ֆինանսական համակարգի վրա։
Փաստացի օգտվելով Փաշինյանի և Ալիևի ագահությունից՝ Արևմուտքը նաև փորձում է ֆինանսական առումով դուրս մղել Ռուսաստանին տարածաշրջանից։
