Բրիտանական «Տելեգրաֆ» պարբերականին տված Փաշինյանի հարցազրույցը չափազանց ուշագրավ է հատկապես Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերությունների մասով։ Հայաստանի վարչապետի պաշտոնը զբաղեցնող անձն այդպես էլ հստակ չի պատասխանել հարցին՝ «Արդյոք կձերբակալե՞ն Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինին, եթե նա ժամանի Հայաստան»։

Փետրվարի սկզբին Հայաստանը պաշտոնապես միացավ Միջազգային քրեական դատարանին, իսկ Հռոմի ստատուտը վավերացվել էր հոկտեմբերին։ Այն լուրջ խնդիրներ էր հարուցել հայ-ռուսական հարաբերություններում։ Օրերս տված հարցազրույցում էլ Փաշինյանը հայտարարել է, թե ՄՔԴ-ում հետախուզման մեջ գտնվող Վլադիմիր Պուտինի ձերբակալման հարցն իրավական խնդիր է, քաղաքական հարց չէ, որն ինքը պետք է քննարկի և որին պետք է արձագանքի։ Պաշտոնական Կրեմլն անմիջապես արձագանքել էր և հստակ հավաստիացումներ պահանջել Երևանից։

Ցանկացած պարագայում Փաշինյանի այս խուսանավումը կարելի է մեկնաբանել մի քանի ուղղությամբ։ Նախ նա փորձում է խարխափել երկու կողմերի միջև, մինչ Արևմուտքը պահանջում է Փաշինյանին հստակ հայտարարել Վլադիմիր Պուտինի ձերբակալության հնարավորության մասին, նա՝ ինքը, որևէ հստակ պատասխան չի տալիս, ընդհակառակը, հայտարարում է, թե իբր Հայաստանն իրավական պետություն է, այդ կերպ պատասխանատվությունը բարդում է իրավապահ մարմինների վրա, իսկ Ռուսաստանի հետ հարաբերություններն էլ թողնում է օդում կախված։ Ոստի, բնականաբար, Կրեմլի արձագանքը կարելի է օբյեկտիվ համարել, Կրեմլն էլ հարցը, գնահատելով իրականում քաղաքական, փորձում է հասկանալ վերջապես ինչ մտադրություններ ունեն Հայաստանի իշխանությունները։

Իհարկե, Հայաստանում որևէ մեկի՝ այդ թվում Նիկոլ Փաշինյանի մտքով երբևէ չի էլ կարող անցնել Վլադիմիր Պուտինին ձերբակալել, սակայն հարցն ընդամենը քաղաքական ենթատեքստ ունի և հստակ պատասխանը ցույց էր տալու, թե որ ուղղությամբ է Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը տանում Հայաստանը։ Ըստ էության, Փաշինյանը խուսափել է հստակ պատասխանից։
