Կոնֆուցիոսը ծնվել է Չինաստանի Լու թագավորությունում, Ք.ա. 551թ., արիստոկրատ աստիճանավորի ընտանիքում, զբաղվել է քաղաքական ևմանկավարժական գործունեությամբ: Նա մեծ մտածող էր և համոզված էր, որ կայսրը պետք է հոր պես հոգ տանի ժողովրդին, իսկ ժողովուրդը պետք է սիրի և հնազանդվի նրան: «Լուն Յու» («Զրույցներ և ասույթներ»)-ն Կոնֆուցիոսի գլխավոր աշխատությունն է։ Որում ի մի են բերված հասարակության, պետության, տիեզերքի, բարոյականության մասին Կոնֆուցիոսի դատողություններն ու խորհրդածություններն։ Շուրջ 2000 տարի նրա ուսմունքն ազդեցություն ուներ Չինաստանի կառավարման մեջ:
