Մեքսիկայի հետ ԱՄՆ սահմանի մի հատվածում (Տեխաս նահանգ) դաշնային և նահանգային անվտանգության ուժերի միջև իրական առճակատում է ծավալվել, որի պատճառը միգրացիոն ճգնաժամն է։ Միայն դեկտեմբերին սահմանը հատել է  ռեկորդային՝ ավելի քան 225 հազար անօրինական ներգաղթյալ։

Ապօրինի ներգաղթյալների զգալի ներհոսքի պատճառով Տեխասի իշխանությունները փշալարեր են տեղադրել սահմանին, սակայն ԱՄՆ Գերագույն դատարանն այս շաբաթ վճիռ է կայացրել հօգուտ դաշնային իշխանությունների՝ թույլ տալով սահմանապահ ծառայության աշխատակիցներին հեռացնել այդ փշալարերը: Այս որոշումից հետո Տեխասի նահանգապետ Գրեգ Էբոթի և դաշնային կառավարության միջև հակասությունները կտրուկ սրվել են: Տեխասի իշխանությունները հրաժարվել են ենթարկվել վճռին: Նահանգի ազգային գվարդիականները վերահսկողության տակ են վերցրել Իգլ Փաս քաղաքի սահմանային շրջաններից մեկը, տեղադրել են 48 կմ փշալար  և թույլ չեն տալիս դաշնային սահմանապահներին հեռացնել փշալարերը։

Նախագահ Ջո Բայդենի վարչակազմը հայտարարել է, որ Տեխասի իշխանությունները միջամտում են ներգաղթի և սահմանների պահպանման հարցերին, որոնք գտնվում են դաշնային իրավասության ներքո: 

Ապօրինի ներգաղթի վերաբերյալ խիստ քաղաքականությամբ հայտնի ԱՄՆ նախկին նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփը կոչ է արել «բոլոր պատրաստակամ նահանգներին» Ազգային գվարդիայի անդամներին ուղարկել Տեխաս, նշում է Hill թերթը:

«Ի դեմս ազգային անվտանգության, հանրային անվտանգության և հանրային առողջության այս աղետի, Տեխասն իրավացիորեն է կիրառել Սահմանադրության ներխուժման մասին դրույթը և պետք է լիակատար աջակցություն ստանա ներխուժումը ետ մղելու համար… Մենք կոչ ենք անում բոլոր պատրաստակամ նահանգներին անվտանգության ուժեր ուղարկել Տեխաս՝ կանխելու ապօրինի ներգաղթյալների մուտքը և նրանց հետ սահմանից հեռացնելու համար»,- ասել է Թրամփը:?

«Երբ ես նախագահ լինեմ, առաջին իսկ օրը, Տեխասի դեմ կռվելու փոխարեն, ձեռք ձեռքի տված կաշխատեմ նահանգապետ Էբոթի և սահմանամերձ այլ նահանգների հետ՝ դադարեցնելու ներխուժումը, փակելու սահմանը և արագ սկսելու պատմության մեջ ամենամեծ արտաքսման գործողությունը: Նրանք, ում Բայդենը ներս է թողել, չպետք է իրենց հարմար զգան, քանի որ նրանք տուն են գնալու», - ընդգծել է Թրամփը:

Նահանգապետ Գրեգ Էբոթն արդարացրել է դատարանի վճիռն անտեսելու որոշումը՝ քննադատելով Բայդենին ներգաղթի մասին օրենքները չկիրառելու և խախտելու համար։ Տեխասի նահանգապետը վկայակոչել է Տեխասի՝ ներխուժումից պաշտպանվելու սահմանադրական իրավունքը՝ ընդգծելով, որ շարունակվում է երկրի հարավային սահման ժամանող ներգաղթյալների հոսքը:

«Քանի որ Բայդենի վարչակազմը իսկապես հրաժարվել է սահմանի անվտանգությունն ապահովելու և համապատասխան օրենքները կիրառելու իր պարտականությունից, Տեխասը, շատ պարզ, ապահովում է սահմանի անվտանգությունը», - հայտարարել է Էբոթը:

BBC-ն հավելում է, որ ԱՄՆ նահանգների կեսի՝ 25-ի հանրապետական նահանգապետերն աջակցություն են հայտնել Տեխասին՝ ԱՄՆ կառավարության հետ սահմանային դիմակայության սրման հարցում: Նահանգապետերը Էբոթի հետ համերաշխության համատեղ հայտարարություն են տարածել:
